Southlands
A small domestic farm on a beautiful property, surrounded by bush, bordering National Park and close to beaches. Our animals are part of the family – dog, chooks and a small beef herd – all with names and a story. The vegie garden and orchard are productive and always in need of tending. Much of our food is homegrown or locally sourced and our diet is meaty, tasty and healthy.

Volunteering includes work in pastures, weeding, raking, fencing, help in vegie garden and orchard, feeding animals, and small building projects. Own transport preferable to take advantage of the beautiful surrounding area.

Caravan accommodation for a single or a couple. No children. Meat-based meals. Non-smokers only. Negotiable stays after first few days. Cannot take WWOOFers during winter.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We enjoy sharing our beautiful property with visitors. Now we are getting older, we enjoy sharing experience we have gained over the years and very much appreciate the contribution those with more youthful energy and enthusiasm can offer.

Organic/Biological methods we use

Farming here is low-tech and as nature and animal friendly as possible. We have used biodynamic preparations on pasture and garden regularly in the past with good effect. Circumstances were such that this lapsed for a few years, but should be happening again soon. Otherwise methods are consistent with organic practices.
