Bookara Goat Dairy is 370 kms north of Perth, 2 kms from the Indian Ocean. The climate can be hot in summer, but conditions are generally mild with good rain in the winter months, ideal for goats. Our dairy is located 50 m from the house. The goats are milked in the morning. During the week milk is processed into cheese, yoghurt or packaged as raw milk in our processing room. Work includes day to day activities relating to the dairy, milking, cheese making, construction projects of farm infrastructure. Accom for 2 people in our home is available. Mixed diet. Negotiate longer stays after first few days.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We have experience in hosting international visitors to our farm since 2012, and have found this very beneficial for our visitors and for ourselves in terms of shared work, home life and cultural exchange.

Organic/Biological methods we use

Dairy goats are milked once per day. Goats are walked out to pasture, adapted for seasonal variations. Hay and other supplementary feed is grown on farm or sourced locally.
