Short Property Description
Ayr farm is set in a picturesque part of the Hunter Valley bordered by the Hunter River, which feels rural but is close to both small communities and larger hubs. In addition to sheep and beef cattle I have a small dairy herd of 8 jersey cows, milking once a day. I also have chickens, working dogs and a small market garden which includes a greenhouse, glasshouse and seed-raising area.
Organic/Biological methods we use
A lot of old school techniques, but have most of the equipment to make work as easy as possible.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
In the past I have had students from the Tocal Agricultural College come to the farm for work experience and have enjoyed the chance to share some of the things I have learned with them. With a wide variety of farming areas available to become involved in, wwoofers will have the opportunity to follow their interests and passions and hopefully learn a lot during their stay.
