Winton is an old estate with a rich history currently being restored and renovated by us. 30 mins from Hobart and the Airport. Winton is 14 acres – a mixture of historic fruit trees, plantings and acreage for rescue animals – pigs, cows, sheep, chickens, and the like to do their stuff.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

Our international family spans wide and far from those who have stayed at Winton. Quebec, Israel, Germany, France, Madagascar and even Oz. We are so fortunate. Some have come back towards the end of their travels and others vow to return. We love sharing our world with others and leaving a little bit of Winton with those who have stayed.

Organic/Biological methods we use

We use manual labour to combat the realities of nature, research methods and natural pesticides for fruit trees that do the job – but dont harm the environment.. We continue to balance our desires for planting with the harsh realties of the surroundings i.e. possums, wallabies, quolls, devils, hares, rabbits, wombats etc etc. We must find a balance. There must be harmony.
