Our 640 ac property is mainly bush, and backs on to a state park – lots of forest, walking tracks, native flora and fauna.
We practice alternative living in the sense of building our own dwellings and outbuildings, running our own power systems, and growing as much of our own food as possible. We dont farm commercially and are conservation orientated. We spend time here maintaining the property, gardens and enjoying and working to enhance the natural environment.
Volunteering of 4-6 hrs per day is varied and includes: gardening, mowing, wood collection, tree pruning, building, fencing, track construction and General farm maintenance.
Accommodation for 2 is in a separate, self contained flat near our house or a separate caravan if the flat is in use. Mostly shared meals where we like to also share cooking tasks, self-catering available for other times, food provided. Mixed diet, meat sometimes included. Initial stay 7 days -Longer stays negotiable.
We became WWOOF hosts to meet people -particularly those interested in sustainability- and to introduce them to many aspects of living in a remote rural setting.
We have a large property and also would benefit from help in carrying out our multitude of tasks.
