Robena Binks
Our 1908 home is on 84 acres 6kms south of Violet Town. We have a garden with vegetables, herbs & fruit trees for our own use, based on Permaculture, ‘what grows best’ or ‘what makes us happy’ principles.
One hundred and ten olive trees supply us with pickled olives & oil. An adjacent nature reserve (with our ‘private’ swimming pool!) provides habitat for abundant native wildlife including the elusive platypus.
We enjoy seasonal foods. Robena is a talented chef who is happy to share her large kitchen.
Accommodation in our house for 1-2 (couple or singles). Mixed shared meals. ‘The Gorge’ is a TV, STRESS & SMOKE-FREE Zone! P/u at Violet Town railway station (Benalla/Euroa b.a).
Projects vary throughout the year & include gardening, weeding, watering, seasonal food processing & general maintenance.
Fully vaccinated WWOOFers most welcome.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We joined in 1998 when our niece visited us after WWOOFing in NSW and found very few hosts in our area. WWOOFers provide us assistance with the everyday and seasonal farm chores and we learn about their lives and culture.
We’ve had some wonderful young people stay with us over the decades and have visited them when travelling to Europe, including a fabulous wedding in Brittany in 2019.
