Our home and garden are on the beautiful mountaintop of Mt Toolebewong. Our home is owner-built rammed earth construction and is surrounded by herb and native gardens, berries and fruit trees. Our place is about 20 minutes drive from our Healesville, and we can pick you up from the bus stop when you arrive. We are close to a major native animal sanctuary, good wineries and the thriving and beautiful Yarra Valley.
A typical day would involve 4 – 6 hours of work, with morning tea and lunch. Volunteering includes gardening, weeding, mulching, pruning, compost making, planting, wood collecting, splitting & stacking. Building tasks depend on skills and experience. There are two days off each week for rest and recreation.
Your accommodation is in a two bedroom self-contained flat attached to the end of our house. We enjoy a mixed diet, with some shared meals. We’re not able to accommodate children. No smoking inside please. Initial stay 3-7 days, longer stays negotiable.
