Host since 2008 (welcomed 100+ WWOOFers). Self-confessed FOODIES. 2 kms from world famous Healesville Sanctuary for Australian Wildlife. Close to Badger Weir NP.
We have Scottish Highland cattle, sheep & hay producing hobby farm, on the edge of pristine bush between Mt Riddell & Mt Toole-Be-Wong. Beautiful gardens, bird-lovers paradise, orchard, veggie garden and poultry. Feral deer are common – We eat Venison.
Work includes GFM, pruning, raking, weeding, mulching, spreading animal manure, cleaning chook shed and water troughs, collecting firewood and manure for composting, preserving fruit and veg.
Accommodation for 2 in either our comfortable home or in Summer only caravan at back door.
Meals Gourmet mixed diet (Learn to cook Australian?) including home-grown meat and vegetarian meals.
After Hours Bicycle with mandatory helmet available. After work options: piano, Scrabble, jig-saw, educational board games. We can offer yoga mats.
How to get here Train from Melbourne city to Lilydale (end of line), then McKenzie Bus to Healesville sanctuary for pick up. Email me for further info. Prefer non smokers.

Organic/Biological methods we use
Mostly natural – mostly organic but not strictly. Follow guidelines of permaculture & bio dynamics loosely.
Grow artichokes, horseradish, beans (broad & green), tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchinis, silverbeet, garlic, bay leaves, rhubarb, fruit: apples, peaches, plums, lemons, oranges, herbs: rosemary, lemon balm, mint etc.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
Our farm requires lots of maintenance and having wwoofers is a joy!
For Mature Age wwoofers we would reduce the daily working hours to 4 if required.
6 hours work is still expected of other wwoofers.
