Short Property Description
50 ha Certified Organic farm in Central Victoria adjacent to the Wombat State Forest, natural mineral water springs & historic gold mining towns. Commercial production of mixed vegetables, nuts, apples, wine, cider & livestock with produce sold locally. Family members are 4th generation on the family property & are collectively involved in conservation, Landcare & organic farm certification. Volunteering includes pruning & vineyard maintenance, weeding, picking, grading & packing fruit & vegetables, minor machinery work, irrigation, livestock husbandry. Accommodation: We have room for 5 people in farmyard residential quarters. Meals: Self-prepared from farm & other produce in self contained kitchen. Domestic self-reliance is a must. Protocols will apply to visitors from other vineyards for grapevine disease prevention. No smoking inside please. Blampied is a town in the central highlands of Victoria on the Midland Highway. The town is in the Shire of Hepburn, 117 kilometers north west of the state capital of Melbourne. You can catch a train from Melbourne station the trip by Train is 3hrs the trip if you have your own car is 1 1/2 hours, you will not be disappointed.
