Beautiful 230 hectare Regenerative Landcare award winning farm, that has now reached the status of being carbon neutral, running sheep for prime lamb production, cattle, practising agroforestry, natural building, cut native flowers, running regenerative farm tours and working dog schools. We are experimenting with some biodynamic and permaculture principles, and using cover cropping (multi species) to improve our soils and animal health.
Telstra phone company is the only one that has coverage here.
We have sheep, cattle, alpacas & dogs.
Two of our daughters and their partners and 5 children live on the property as well. Our daughter Hannah & her partner Luke now run the stock enterprise on our farm.
If you would like to see what we do go to the facebook page “Yan Yan Gurt West Farm”

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We love meeting people from all parts of the world and sharing knowledge, creativity and different cultures. We find surrounding ourselves with young enthusiastic people keeps us young too.
We are passionate about the environment and enjoy sharing our journey in regenerating our farm and educating others as we do so.

Organic/Biological methods we use
Our home garden is organic (veg/flowers, fruit, nut trees), we still use some chemical sprays for weed control on the farm. We practice a holistic farming approach, especially with our agroforestry trees. The trees are planted as weather protection, erosion control, landclass subdivisions, for water quality, wildlife corridors and biodiversity, high quality timber trees have been incorporated into our planting to be harvested on a rotational basis.
We have put 2 hugelkultur beds for growing vegetables, and an orchard. Our family has built a cob studio and there are ongoing natural building and gardening projects happening throughout the year.
Our gardening methods incorporate some permaculture principles. The rest of the farm is like zone 4 permaculture!
