We have a beautiful 40 acre horse agistment property, veggie garden & fruit trees and approx. 5 acres bush. 3 min drive to surf beach, bay beach & Inverloch town or 10 min drive to Wonthaggi, a larger town. Push bikes available. We are very interested in living a sustainable lifestyle and hope that our WWOOFers are also interested in living sustainably and learning, and sharing knowledge of this. There are almost always wallabies at our farm and if you are lucky you may see kangaroos, echidnas, wombats & occasional koalas. Work may include harvesting, food collection, composting, mulching, hay carting, weeding, fencing, planting, food preservation.  Sometimes there is some work caring for horses: often all the work is in the garden and paddock maintenance, as the horses are mainly looked after by their owners. Accommodation for up to 3 in our home, although we usually prefer 2. Shared meals, cook together. We eat a healthy, sustainable diet.  Bron is vegan and while Ray eats everything, many meals are vegan or vegetarian.  Vegetarians & vegans catered for.  No children, no smoking, all stays negotiable on application. Please let us know your available dates when you apply and the length of time that you would like to WWOOF here. (1 to 2 weeks preferred).

Virtue Farm is a 33 acre property overlooking K'Gari (Fraser Island), and includes 27 acres of remnant forest which will never be developed. The forest is an oasis for bird life and other animals and is great for walking.  We are 10 minutes from Hervey Bay and 10 minutes from the K'Gari (Fraser Island) barge that leaves from River Heads. We have an existing permaculture garden and are upscaling to small farm size. Our house block is 1.5 acres and backs on to the farm land.  We are in the beginning stages of becoming a commercially viable farm, so you will be helping to establish our property. We ask for five hours of volunteering per day, per person, depending upon the type of work and we can be very flexible in this regard. This could include farm work, vegetable patch work, caring for the chooks, moving small saplings, rock picking, planting, mulching, weeding, harvesting, fencing, land clearing and chopping wood and general home maintenance. If you have any specific skill base or interest we are open to negotiation. In return, we will supply an evening meal shared with us and you can prepare your own breakfasts and lunch from what we supply. Accommodation  for 4 in a granny flat downstairs, we have 1 room with two king single beds - can be joined to make a king, 1 room with a queen size bed. We can accommodate singles and couples. Mixed diet and a mix of vegetarian and meat based meals.  Whilst we have some capacity to cater for vegans, we will have to learn from you to assist us to cater for your needs and are willing to do so within limits. Internet access is available close to the house. Virtue Farm acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Butchulla people, where we work and live, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. While you are here, you should make time to go to K'Gari (Fraser Island). We are very flexible and happy to work around dates that you can access which are cheaper for you. Many of our volunteers have found great deals on the “Book Me” website. You would be welcome to leave your property here where it would be safe if you do choose to visit. Additionally, we strongly suggest that you plan for at least a one night overnight stay on K'Gari (Fraser Island); many of our volunteers have done the day tour and loved it, but all say they wished they’d stayed for longer as they felt like they only had a glimpse and not enough time to experience all it has to offer. Those people who stayed for two or three nights seem to have had the best experiences. We have some back packs and camping gear for volunteers to use (for a small fee to cover wear and tear) if they want to do the longer treks and hikes on Fraser Island. We are also aware that some companies do dual booking between the Whit Sundays and Fraser Island and they have been both popular and economical. As long as you book your trip to Fraser Island from Hervey Bay we are happy to drive you to where you need to be. If you book from Rainbow Beach, then you will have to arrange your own transport as it is about an hour and a half away. We have two bicycles and helmets which we are happy to share so you can spend a day or afternoon in Hervey Bay exploring and experiencing all that our fabulous community has to offer. There is no public transport to our home, but we are happy to drive into Hervey Bay so you can see our beautiful beaches, piers, parks and lifestyle. There are some lovely walks in the remnant forest on our block and it is always lovely to watch the kangaroos that visit daily. The volunteers that we have had so far have enjoyed their time with us and have been happy to join in with our family and extended family. You will stay in the two bedroom flat downstairs, with its own bathroom, kitchenette with microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle , dining area and lounge room. We have one room with a queen sized bed and one with two king singles. There is a TV, DVD player and some board games, card, paints and mindful colouring books. We also have heaps of Earth Garden magazines and similar to browse.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. Due to the corona virus all our booked overseas helpers had to cancel their flight to Australia. The first time in Years we might at times be without helpers at all. Some local Australian helpers, unable to go overseas are now filling the gap which is very nice as we used to have overseas helpers only before. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, a Muscovy duck, flower beds, lawns as well as two goats on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. Bernward is semi retired but still runs a sustainable architecture and building consultancy business part time from offices attached to the home. Barbara works at the local hospital. We have been accommodating helpers since 2011  through various help exchange sites. If you want a break from travelling in a non judgmental  friendly  family environment and you are open and self-motivated, this is the place for you. This is not an action or party place but rather a place to relax and get creative with great light, & scenery for painting and photography, write and get back to nature. A big woodworking workshop invites creativity. Here  what Grace built in our workshop:   https://youtu.be/22iNA5Om6KU and https://youtu.be/BBJUSo0my8E ) I enjoy teaching woodworking skills to our helpers with the option to learn how to fit out campervans and tiny houses. A couple of times a week we heat up our Sauna and helpers are welcome to join. Help is always needed in the garden & paddock, picking berries & apples, looking after animals, weed control, making firewood, compost, cleaning up sheds & around the place, sometimes on a sustainable building site. We live 45min by car from Adelaide, 45min from safe swimming beaches & 45min from the surf, so we are pretty central. Accommodation  for 2 in separate stone cottage & own room in the main building. All share in home cooked evening meal. Mixed diet. No smokers please. Longer stays (min 3 weeks) preferred after initial few days. Please contact us via email only.

Michael and I, (both 58 years old) and our friendly labrador Marley, live in our family home, on a private 5 acres, on the Blackall Range (about 425 m above sea level), Sunshine Coast Hinterland, 82 kilometres north of Brisbane. Two acres around the house are intensively managed, and the other 3 acres are rainforest, and weedy lantana and privet patches, down to Obi Obi Creek at the bottom of the property. We have two options to offer as accommodation for our WWOOFer volunteers, depending on vacancy. Our self contained granny flat underneath the main residence can accommodate a single person or a couple. Upstairs in the main residence there is a spare bedroom with ensuite, and external patio and entry. We have recently purchased the property, and are keen to establish the veggie patch and orchard, and regenerate areas of rainforest, according to permaculture principles. I am a soil consultant, working with regenerative agriculture/organic farmers and market gardeners across Australia, but particularly in south east Queensland. A few times a year, I teach soil classes for organic farmers and market gardeners, and also teach the soil component of the permaculture course at Crystal Water Eco Village. My speciality is soil mineral balancing. I completed a permaculture design certificate 22 years ago, and this will be my third (and last) personal permaculture property set up, but I am only just beginning, so there is much to be done. In our spare time, Michael and I both enjoy time on the water, fishing, and snorkelling on the wrecks at Tangalooma.

We live on a 5 acre rural block in Yapeen, Central Victoria. Yapeen is a great mix of quiet countryside within easy access to the historic goldfields and artistic hub of Castlemaine. We are owner builders and in the process of finishing a unique, off grid house. Our block has a diversity of native grasses, some large remnant trees, an abundance of reptiles and birds, resident frogs and visiting kangaroos. We have lots of plans and are in need of extra hands to get things done, but also keen for good company and to learn from and teach others. We need help with maintaining and improving the biodiversity on the block (weeding, native plant propagation, planting and watering revegetation patches and making wildlife habitat such as nesting boxes), house/shed building, animal fencing and gardening - we have an orchard and a large vegetable garden. We use organic methods only and implement permaculture concepts whenever possible. Activities you can do in your time off include bush walks, bird watching, visiting waterholes - we are close proximity to a natural swimming hole at Vaughan Springs. We have a spa/plunge pool available in the summer and a pleasant outside area for relaxing. WWOOFers will stay in a caravan or cabin with the use of our house for meals and bathroom facilities. We prefer to cook and eat together and are keen to experience cuisine from other cultures. We have a 6 month old baby and an enthusiastic 4 year old and would welcome others with small children.

I own 25 acres of steep, rocky land in W Tree in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Over almost 35 years I have built (with considerable help) a lovely passive solar mudbrick house, planted crazy numbers of trees, gardened and raised my wonderful son. In many ways I have worked towards a dream from my early 20's to build a country life. My place is lovely. The vast expanse of bushland that surrounds it is beyond spectacular.   We can Sign off on your 2nd Year Visas as we were effected by the 2019-2020 Bushfires.

Hi! We grow delicious organic fruit with love on Djaara Country. We are The Orchard Keepers; Terry, Yoann, Ingrid & Alex, a small collective of friends taking stewardship of an organic orchard on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, in Harcourt, ‘Victoria’. The farm is located right at the bottom of Leanganook with plenty of walks and bike ride tracks available. We are a member of the Harcourt Organic Farm Co-operative. The orchard is home to over 4000 trees and 100 varieties of stone and pome fruit including cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums, apples and pears. We are humble and see ourselves in a process of long learning about Country and place, our communities and the orchard itself. We are driven by a shared commitment to justice, solidarity and care. We keep principles of food sovereignty, food democracy, adaptation to ecologies and regenerative farming close to our hearts. We believe everyone should have access to good healthy food, and we are excited to put that belief into practice. We are always looking for ways and make opportunities to bring more justice and more joy to the world around us. We aim to be transparent in all that we do, in growing beautiful, healthy food, connecting as closely as possible with the people who buy our fruit all the while looking after each other and this special place.

Hi We live on a beautiful 38 acres farm right on the Yarra River adjacent to the Yarra Ranges National park in McMahons Creek in the Yarra Valley Victoria. I run a flock of around 100 Dorper sheep and a large veggie garden. I'm also currently revegetating areas of the farm with hundreds of native trees and shrubs. I live here with my two sons aged 18 and 14. I'm moving towards regenerative farming practices. I think this is an exciting time in farming where new ways are being relearnt to care for the land.
