Trickle Hill
We live on a large hobby farm in the middle of the bush- about an hour from Melbourne. Us is: Mum and Dad, 3-4 dogs, horses, chickens, and a veg garden/ orchard.
There is always bushwork- we are still clearing fallen trees from storms *WHV work) , a lot of maintenance, and many plans for things to build. Meals are together, ( all meals with meat, we love coffee) and we chat a lot. Help in the kitchen is not work, but part of life.
We work hard, and make long days- which you can join in or not. (most do) As a design/ mechanical engineer, and sculptor, and immigrants- we can teach you about life and its unpredictability.
We now have had 175 + helpers over the years- but still get surprised sometimes 🙂
A phone call is essential before committing.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We love sharing our lives with other people, this is paradise, but it’s hard work! After years of hosting as a family, the kids have left, and we love getting younger people in to chat about life, get inspired, learn and teach about life.
Of course it’s great that a lot of work gets done that costs time that we don’t have.

Organic/Biological methods we use
We have a veg garden, and orchard, and a lot of bush! We do everything as natural as we can, this means a lot of weeding.
We do use the occasional poison (not our helpers) to keep on top of noxious weeds- all the other weeds get pulled by hand.
Since we heat 2 houses on wood, there its a lot of cutting, splitting and stacking of wood.
