We stayed with Deb for three months, and from the moment we arrived she welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. She is generous, full of love, and full of great ideas. Deb was always attentive to our wellbeing, making sure we had plenty of rest and checking in if we were tired or unwell. Her deep connection to the community is truly inspiring, and thanks to her, we met a bunch of wonderful friends who were kind, funny, and full of good vibes. We shared plenty of laughs and felt lucky to be part of it all. We’ve learned a lot from her, just by being around her thoughtful ways and her care for people and place. And then there is Jack. The sometime a bit bossy gentlest giant and the ultimate hosting dog. We miss the cuddles, the walk, and the way he quietly stole our hearts. We highly recommend WWOOFing at Deb’s. It is a beautiful, generous, and laughter-filled experience we will never forget.

It was a short stay, but the scenery was breathtaking, and Deborah and Jack were truly kind and generous hosts. Her friends were also very kind. She showed me around and recommended lovely walking paths nearby. Deborah explained the tasks clearly, and the work was very reasonable. It was a cozy and heartwarming place. Thank you for a special week full of wonderful memories!

Deb is such a lovely woman. She's extremely caring and accommodating, and she's great fun to have conversations with! I really felt welcomed and looked after. Her place is situated on a breathtaking view of the mountains, in the friendly, vibrant community of W Tree. Deb is pretty involved with the local community, so there are plenty of opportunities to meet interesting characters. It was quite nice having my bedroom in the cozy shed room, plenty of privacy! Truly I learned a lot of useful skills and I'm super grateful for the experience!

Thanks Yue. I enjoyed your intelligent company and insights into modern American life and society. And looking after Jack dog when I was elsewhere.

I couldn't have asked for a nicer stay for my 1st time WWOOFing. Deborah is a very kind, generous and down to earth host. She made sure I was well fed and not overworked everyday of my 3 week stay, suggesting things I could do in the area and baking me delicious cakes. The accommodation was a well-insulated and dehumidified shed room that boasts a comfy, king sized bed and antique rocking chair (WiFi too). Everyone I met was very friendly and the area, probably from Buchan northwards, is extraordinarily scenic. All the best, thank you and everyone else very much.

Michael it was a pleasure and your tenacious application to weeding out the Periwinkle is appreciated on a level I can't adequately articulate. Safe travels.

Deborah is an inspiring individual and an amazing cook. I thoroughly enjoyed the month that I spent here meeting the folks at W tree. The work was reasonable, while the accomodation was cozy and private. Travis and Randal were also very welcoming and friendly. I miss all of them dearly.

Deborah is amazing! The place she has made is warm and welcoming with beautiful views across the surrounding valley. When not sharing stories of past travels or friends in the local area Deborah was giving me wonderful recommendations of how to spend my afternoons off. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the fire and sharing stories and getting a real feel of the community in W Tree. Deborahs cooking is also very very good. The work was very satisfying - I hope someone comes in and takes up the fight against that damn periwinkle. I was not here long enough and was sad to leave - thank you Deborah, Travis and Randal.

I had a short but very pleasant stay at Deborah. The work is very reasonable and you get so much back, including very good meals, decent accommodation and being introduced to people in the area. We’re already planning a second visit! Thank you Deborah!

Response
Thanks Tijmen. You were a very easy guest to accommodate, being particularly self contained and undemanding. We hope you make it back in July.

Stayed here between March and April and had a blast! I’ll never forget the laughs I had with Deb and her many friendly neighbors. The house overlooks a beautiful valley with rolling hills and ridges in the distance. Overall I really enjoyed my stay in good’ol’ W Tree - Thank you so much for having me Debrah, say hi to Travis for me!!

Wow what an incredible experience! Deb was an amazing and generous host, and introduced me to many of her neighbors and friends during my stay. The work was reasonable and rewarding, and I felt very cared for. I’m not sure I would have discovered what a beautiful area W Tree and Buchan are if it wasn’t for Deb’s home. Thank you so much for a great few weeks!

Response
Thanks Hannah and thanks heaps for all your hard work . Tim would never have got through all his jobs without you.

Deb was fantastic to stay with! She was very welcoming, warm and funny. Her house is in a beautiful part of the world, and Deb went out of the way to show us the best places to see in the area. She even took us 4W driving, which was lots of fun! Highly reccomend!!!

Thanks Mae. And for coping with a very full house and the resultant chaos. Loved that cauliflower dish. My pot plants look amazing. You girls are welcome back anytime.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Deborah’s place. She and Pete are both lovely people, and it was great learning about the way of life around there. W Tree is a fascinating place with lots of great characters and friendly people! I saw loads of cool wildlife there (koalas, wombats and roos) and was lucky to go on several cool trips out and about! The work was nice and relaxed, and Charlie (the dog) is the cutest! I swear it’s worth going just to see her! Thanks for everything Deborah

Thanks Joe. We enjoyed having you and that trench you dug to the dam is a big job I can tick off my to do list. Charlie loved all the extra attention and we enjoyed your company. And having someone do the dishes after dinner was a bonus. Enjoy Darwin.

Deborah was a fantastic host who was extremely welcoming and very happy to show me around the area and introduce me to her friends! The tasks she gave me were very reasonable and I was able to learn a great deal during my stay. Deborah's property is on a beautiful slope with a stunning view! The accommodation is lovely and warm and Deborah and Pete are both great cooks. I enjoyed my time at Deborah's so much that I returned for a second week and will no doubt come back before I leave Australia!

Will was with us for long enough for us to all get very comfortable together. He and Pete worked really well together pulling out some old fences, one on a very steep hill. Will exhibited considerable tenacity and stamina and kept at it until all the used materials were at the top of the hill where I can access them. He also helped me with some tedious chores and provided Pete with some welcome intellectual stimulation. We all hope he returns.

I really enjoyed my stay at Deborahs place. She is very generous and nice and has a beautiful and peaceful place with a great view. I had a lot of free time and the tasks were easily doable. She made sure I never get hungry and offered really good food. I also could use the kitchen anytime and cook what I wanted to. The area around is just stunning and I especially enjoyed the incredible wildlife around. You'll see a lot of kangaroos, koalas and beautiful birds. Deborah made sure I see and experience what the area has to offer and meet friends and neighbors who would also take me on trips. Thank you very much, Deborah! I would come back anytime 🙂

Lilli fitted in easily with our little household. Charlie the Kelpie loved all the extra attention and my friends thought Lilli was great. She came to us after an incredible 3000km treck in New Zealand. Lilli did a heap of weeding for me, helped with housework and cooked some traditional German vegetarian dishes. We wish her well with her travels.

Deb was a welcoming host that simply needed a hand with small and various tasks around the property. She allowed much free time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The accommodation was separate from the house and equipped with its own bathroom and kitchenette. I particularly enjoyed the view over the valley and even did some yoga at the retreat centre nearby. Deb also showed me some local points of interest and always ensured I didnt go hungry. Thanks Deb, hope to pass through WTree someday again!

Dani was my 2nd WWOOFER and I was her first host. She's nailed my preferance for a laid back approach to 'work' here these days. After too many years of going really hard I now actively pursue a relaxed lifestyle. Dani happily threw her much more youthful self into sundry jobs I needed done and, I felt, got heaps done. Come back anytime.

Rodney is a skilled and diligent worker . He knocked over several jobs that I find physically challenging so quickly that I was caught short. I also probably learnt more from him than he did from me in several areas. I am very grateful for the help.
