Originally, I was inspired to start WWOOFing by my older sister, who spent months WWOOFing in the UK. Since then, I have learnt so much about the world, the Earth and myself. There is also a certain sense of adventure that comes with WWOOFing, with unexpected changes in plans, deep connections and the Universe always presenting me with new lessons to learn. Plus, everything I learn while WWOOfing is directly related to my uni degree, so thats an added bonus!

I had amazing experiences with WWOOFing, in Argentina, where I stayed 3 weeks in a horse farm.
Thomas and I have a bit more spare time this year (we accrued lots of leave in 2020) and our job in Australia is soon coming to an end so we would like to experience some WWOOFing here before heading back home to France 🙂

Claire and Brian have retired to a bush block, a little less than 100 acres in the Lockyer Valley in Queensland. We have owned and lived on the property between working away for about 20 years. Now we want to continue to work on restoration and regeneration of the land. Claire is a beekeeper and potter and Brian, a retired engineer, is developing a small goat herd to assist with weed management on the property. We are interested in sustainable living, organic and biodynamic practices, but are very much beginners in the field. Brian is developing fencing, shelter and watering points etc for the animals & sustainable irrigation for plants and trees. Claire is developing a compost system, a rose (for essential oils) and herb garden and plantings in the apiary for the bees. As we have relocated to this section of the property the pottery and gardens are being re-established, so there is a lot of digging, weeding and planting to assist with. We do not require hands-on help with the bees, but assistance constructing supers, frames and extracting honey and processing honeycomb will be appreciated. We work to a weekly and seasonal timetable and would need help for 5 hours per day three days per week. We have an Air BnB cottage on the property and WWOOFers would be accommodated in this, all meals, internet, electricity, water etc included. We envisage a couple, with no children or pets. There is no public transport. We are a 15 minute drive from town so WWOOFers would need a car. We have one meat meal, one chicken meal and one fish meal per week. Breakfast, lunch and other dinners are vegetarian. For health reasons we do not smoke, nor can permit smoking on the property. Illegal drug taking will not be countenanced.

It's time I started to learn how to grow things and live less from supermarkets. This has been on my mind for too long, and I think now, with what's happening with this crazy virus, it's time for me to embrace living in an alternative way.

Set on 24 acres of lush rolling Noosa Hinterland fertile soil with 4 permanent dams. Previously a very productive organic certified garlic and ginger farm for many years. The farm changed hands and production was scaled back dramatically eventually ceasing in 2017 just before the current owners purchased it.
We (the current owners) are in the process of returning our home to its former glory including production of garlic, ginger, turmeric, fruit, vegetables and animals using biodynamic and permaculture practices. Our aim will be to offer a full paddock to plate experience and an exciting opportunity to be part of our family during your stay!
We have recently opened on our property an organic sourdough micro bakery. If interested you will have the opportunity to help with the running of the bakery too!!

I retreat to the universe that provides, in return I give time and compassion into anything garden, cooking, repairing, recycling, caring for animals and other fellows, clearing out old mess, reviving and restoring the old and jagged.
I've journeyed through some of my lowest depths so far, and I'm here - seperate from the rat race for a more profound, embodied journey.
Moving forward now knowing I can grow to learn the way of nature and become one with the universal source. SO I step into the WWOOF community, liberated and ready to hear what you have to teach me.
I choose to WWOOF because its a million opportunities in one, get up and get active, stimulate my mental and a chance to meet some life long mates on my way.

Having spent the best part of the past two decades working in marketing, I have decided I want to genuinely upskill myself in sustainable practices, permaculture and better understandings in alternative living.
This is all in the goal of setting up my own eco community most likely in Northern New Zealand.

I WWOOFed when I was 25 in France and loved it as a way of getting to know local food and culture. It presents a good purpose of supporting and learning from others while still giving a sense of being on vacation because the experience is so different.
We want our kids to see travelling as a way of getting to know others rather than just site seeing. Luke and I have both found that the beauty of traveling is in the people we meet and the relationships we build.

"Namoorook" circa 1895, is a beautifully restored homestead on 71 acres of farm land approximately 1.5 kms from Leongatha and 130kms from Melbourne.
Adopting regenerative agricultural practices, Namoorook is a mixed farming operation with livestock, organic fruit orchard and vegetable gardens.
We hope it will become an example of how food and farming systems can use the power of nature to increase biodiversity, enrich the soil, capture carbon, improve watersheds enhancing the entire ecosystem.
