About Our Farm

We’re a small, family-run 5-acre permaculture property located in Shadforth, WA, just 4km from the beautiful town of Denmark on the south coast. Our farm is designed with permaculture principles and currently revolves around a chicken mandala system—where chickens rotate through garden zones to regenerate soil, control pests, and fertilise veggie beds.

We have regeneratively grazed sheep, who need to me moved frequently. Work would also include planting fruit trees, and doing some light tractor work for earth shaping.
Help Needed

We’re looking for WWOOFers to assist with: Chicken care and feeding, sheep care and moving, Planting and maintaining the vegetable gardens, Making compost and caring for seedlings, Small construction and maintenance projects, Light tractor work (if skilled), tree planting

Why I became a WWOOF Host

At this exciting phase of setting up our farm we could benefit from the additional help of extra people. We have very nice accommodation to offer, and we would enjoy the cultural experience of visitors. Dutch visitors welcome as we could improve our dutch language skills. Denmark is a beautiful place to visit and it would be a very enriching experience for a traveling couple. Happy to assist with transport locally or lend the car for sightseeing.

Organic/Biological methods we use

We are using permaculture methods to allow nature to do the hard work. We believe in smart design to minimise human labour. Soil, plant and animal are one system and they cannot function without each other. We let the animals (Chicken, earthworms, microbes, herbivores) do what they do best and we don’t create hard work for ourselves. By imitating natural systems we restore fertility to the landscape. Learn about how to rehydrate the land with swales and build soil carbon with regenerative grazing methods.
