    Short Property Description

    About Our Farm
We’re a small, family-run 5-acre permaculture property located in Shadforth, WA, just 4km from the beautiful town of Denmark on the south coast. Our farm uses permaculture principles and currently revolves around a chicken mandala system—where chickens rotate through garden zones to regenerate soil, control pests, and fertilise veggie beds.
We’re also adding regeneratively grazed sheep, planting fruit trees, and have various small building projects underway including assembling a kit shed, building a firewood shelter, and doing some light tractor work for earth shaping.

    Help Needed
We’re looking for WWOOFers to assist with:

    Chicken care and feeding

Planting and maintaining the vegetable gardens

Making compost and caring for seedlings

    Small construction and maintenance projects

    Light tractor work (if skilled)

You’ll be working 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with weekends or two days of your choice off.

    Accommodation & Meals
You’ll stay in a self-contained, beautifully appointed studio apartment with:

Your own kitchen (including a Thermomix)

    Ensuite bathroom

TV, WiFi, and all essentials for a comfortable stay

We’ll supply food for you to prepare your own meals or eat with us, and you’ll be welcome to join our family for healthy shared meals and social occasions.

    About Us
We are a couple with two boys aged 10 and 13, and a male livestock guardian dog who protects our chickens. WWOOFers must be comfortable around big working dogs. We love meeting people from around the world and sharing knowledge about regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and off-grid living.

    Free Time & Lifestyle
Denmark is a vibrant, eco-conscious community surrounded by national parks, world-class beaches, and hiking trails. We have bikes, a kayak, and snorkel gear available for use. A car is recommended to get around, though town is just a short ride away.
We’re looking for enthusiastic, practical, and respectful helpers who enjoy nature, learning new skills, and working independently. This opportunity is ideal for a couple or a single.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

We are using permaculture methods to allow nature to do the hard work. We believe in smart design to minimise human labour. Soil, plant and animal are one system and they cannot function without each other. We let the animals (Chicken, earthworms, microbes) do what they do best and we don’t create hard work for ourselves.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

At this exciting phase of setting up our farm we could benefit from the additional help of extra people. We have very nice accommodation to offer, and we would enjoy the cultural experience of visitors. Dutch visitors welcome as we could improve our dutch language skills. Denmark is a beautiful place to visit and it would be a very enriching experience for a traveling couple. Happy to assist with transport locally or lend the car for sightseeing. We are a happy, welcoming family, consisting of a couple with boys age 12 and 9, and a puppy.
