Riverpines is a 20 year old organic vineyard in the Broke Forditch region of the Hunter Valley. Set up in the late 90’s as a top shelf grape producer it has great bones. The new owners are working on a transition to a more integrated farming approach bringing in a variety of other produce and companion livestock. With a focus going forward on using biodynamic principles Riverpines is set for interesting times.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We believe farming is like community work, growing good food for our community and it takes a community to run it!
Joining WWOOF will help create a community around the farm; will also connect us to other farmers and their knowledge and advice.
We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodian of this beautiful land, the Wonnarua people.
We want to reintroduce natives trees and grow native bush food.
We are planning a market garden to feed ourself and the community; this is for us a very important plan because of our Restaurant and our Pasta Lab; it has been so difficult for us to find fresh good quality organic produce; it is a great opportunity for us to use this space to finally grow at least some of what we need!
Sharing ideas and skills will help immensely and WWOOF is one of the most active grassroots community; being part of it will be invaluable.
We are relatively new to farming and new to this area, there is so much for us to learn, so much to do!
We look forward to create a community around the farm and add activities to make it fun and interesting!

Organic/Biological methods we use
We are very interested in the value coming from the Regenerative Farming communities around the world. We will be drawing from the developing ag science as it becomes available while we remain certified organic and biodynamic as the core agricultural drivers.
