Our Clear Mountain property is 5 acres of rural residential land. We live in an area of remnant dry rainforest and we have been clearing weeds and revegetating for almost 20 years. We live as sustainably as possible with solar panels, water tanks, eco sewerage system and solar hot water. We are 45 minutes drive north of Brisbane, Queensland.
We joined WWOOF to meet people from all over the world. To learn about their culture and skills and to share our knowledge with them. We love the idea of engaging with others in our vision of revegetating this land and hopefully leaving it in better shape than when we found it.
Organic/Biological methods we use
We mainly use the chop and drop method of weeding. We source our native tubestock from a local nursery which specialises in plants endemic to our area. We are on-grid but have solar panels, a solar heated plunge pool, eco sewerage system, composting toilet and rainwater tanks.
