Phillip Nicolson
Located in North Queensland, we have 80 acres across rain forest hills with springs to low lying swamp land with rich fertile soil between. We have a variety of tropical fruit including citrus, sapote, vanilla and cocoa.

It’s early days having bought the property slightly run down 2 yrs ago. Whilst we’re re-building the property we offer tented accommodation circa 20 m from the house and facilities. If you like the sound of the rain forest wildlife as you go to sleep and birds as you wake, this is a beautiful setting for wildlife loving folk.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We have travelled the world living and working where we enjoyed meeting new people. We experienced wwoofing in the UK several years ago and enjoyed meeting like minded people.

As life gets on, a more enjoyable pace of life in a beautiful environment is what we are hoping to achieve through self sufficiency.

Organic/Biological methods we use

We harvest rainwater and utilise the spring water for irrigation in addition to being our main water source. We use companion planting to reduce the need for pesticides. Being in the wet tropics we also generate plenty of compost to enhance soil fertility.
