    Short Property Description

Our family has a 13 acre property in the heart of the Shoalhaven, which we have owned for 20 years. We have a small orchard, vege garden, some sheep and some chooks, and previously had some cows until they decided that fences were meant to be jumped.

We are on tank water and have solar water, and solar panels back to grid. In the future we hope to get a battery system installed.

Over the past year we have become interested in permaculture and are gradually making improvements to the property. It was originally flat, dairy country but in 1978 a local botanist purchased the property created swales and water storage areas and planted thousands of native trees with the view of creating an eco centre, unfortunately the council wouldn’t pass it and after 13 years he sold up and moved to Queensland.

My vision is to create a fully self sustaining property for generations to enjoy for many years to come. A little oasis in the Bush.

The accommodation is a lovely studio room in the converted barn which is air conditioned for heating and cooling.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

I became a WWOOF host because I love gardening and enjoying time on my little farm, I love sharing its beauty and serenity with others. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing what I know as well as learning from others. I think WWOOFing is an amazing way to travel around the countryside and I love the incredible community it creates. I hope to meet you soon!
