Lynne and Leslie
Our citrus farm is about half way between Sydney & Brisbane. Bonville is a lovely area, just South of Coffs Harbour. People enjoy the space & peace here, -and we do have wifi! Sawtell Village is only 15 minutes away – surfing, beach walking, street cafes, post office, cinema & shops you can do them all. We will give you a lift there, -and pick you up again!
Our main farm work takes place in the morning, with a tea break half way through. WWOOFers start at 8.30am., and finish by 1.30pm.
Accommodation is separate from the house and has its own bathroom, TV, kettle, etc. Meals are shared at the house with us, except for breakfast, which is taken in the accommodation.
Volunteering includes caring for citrus trees, picking, packing, some weeding!
Afterwards, you can relax in our pool, walk to the creek, take a nap, explore Sawtell or Coffs Harbour, watch TV, read – the choice is yours.
We look forward to meeting you!

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We have been hosts for 22 years and when starting up with our organic citrus farm we found having wwoofers were always great to have around. They have been helpful over the years and we enjoy their company and appreciate the work they help us achieve.

Organic/Biological methods we use

We have sprayed oil on the citrus trees, and I use a battery operated vacuum cleaner to remove stinkbugs. We used a barrier strip which was attached around the trunks of the trees and then painted an organic glue on the strip, to stop ants. We use our own compost to feed the trees.
