Macoma is a beautiful property. It is a true blue Australian farm life experience. There is cattle, sheep, calves, lambs, lamas, chickens, dogs, horses. Lots of different activites to help out with from feeding the different animals hay to helping with the organic veggie garden etc. Beautiful sunsets over the vast paddocks. Linda and Alan are the most welcoming couple. They explain the tasks with patience, the meals are outstanding!! Now I know why it is so popular!!

You would be hard pressed to find a more gracious set of people. Macoma is a beautiful property and I found myself looking forward to work in the morning. Alan and Linda are incredibly welcoming, and not once was I served a bad meal. They are also very knowledgeable about their trade and I learned lots during my time there. Absolutely worth a visit.

Macoma is a working farm and Alan and Linda know their stuff inside and out. I had a fun and very educational time learning the intricacies of sheep and cow farming and how less is more especially in times of low rainfall. Alan and Linda are fabulous hosts and fabulous people who kept me interested everyday. It was sad to leave Macoma 👍

It's definitely an interesting place. Alan took over the place from his Dad when he was 21. Then through some serious drought related reflection they have looked to organic farming to move forward. Linda has become more and more involved over the years with a cool vege garden and training in things like wool classing. Some things are a bit back to front, Some of the sheep dogs seem to make things more difficult and for a more remote place you get better Vodafone reception. The work was more focused around the animals while I was there. There were a hundred or so sheep to shear before were sold. They both calmly explained things for helping out in the shearing shed. Then in the weekend they headed to a market, they have their meat selling at a local health food shop and head to markets with the honey from their beekeeper as well. This market was centred around an event, with the main challenge for people to kick rugby balls over grain silos. Then there was a couple of days of tidying up and moving animals. (If you get hayfever you may want to check in if it is a good time of year to go). Your are really well fed, with clean meals. Lots of the food comes from their animals or Linda's garden. There is a ton to learn from. Whether it is from seeing how they have chipped away at running their farm better by dividing up fields/making damns, to a great collection of gardening/soil health books. Linda can even pulled out the microscope to go through soil samples if your interested. Even though it was a little out of the way, it was definitely worth seeing what they were doing.

Dear Linda and Alan, thank you very much for wonderful experiences we were able to have at your farm, Macoma. It was very special to feed cows and sheep hays from a moving truck in big fields. It was my 13 years old daughter’s dream to touch, brush and feed horses. She also got to feed milk to a baby cow, Valentine. She said it was much more fun than DisneyLand after driving the big tractor with Alan. She enjoyed making chocolate muffins with Linda. We really loved and appreciated every meal Linda made. I was kind of too shy to help her on cooking because I’m not a good cook, but I smelled the sent of fresh celery cut from her garden. We were here only for 3 days, but these 3 days were very saturated with unforgettable experiences. We saw kangaroos jumping! We were very lucky to meet Linda and Alan who welcomed us with warmth. The travel from Sydney to West Wyalong was smoother than we expected. We are really happy we took this opportunity to visit Linda and Alan at Macoma farm! Thank you!

If you're looking for an amazing farming experience in a homey atmosphere, I can't recommend Alan & Linda's farm enough! In my two short weeks of living with Alan & Linda, I learned how to: drive a tractor, herd sheep, feed livestock, ride in a side-by-side, along with many other new experiences. As a board game aficionado, I was pleasantly surprised with Alan & Linda's board game collection! I will fondly remember the nights we played Catan and the day I beat Alan in his favourite Squatter game. I will also miss the conversations and Linda's cooking! I learned so much about nutrition and the ways of the farming life here that I will be eternally grateful for. Thank you again, Alan & Linda, for taking me in with open arms. Do take care, and I hope to see you all soon!

I stayed for one week with Linda and Alan at their farm ‘Macoma‘ and met beautiful people who created a wonderful place for them and their animals. I learned a lot about organic farming, cooking and a healthy livestyle. After the farm work we played card games or Linda showed me also basics in knitting. Thank you so much for having me!

I stayed with a friend for two weeks. Thank you very much for giving me so many wonderful experiences. Linda and Alan are both very kind. We were nervous about our first wwoof, but they welcomed us very warmly. Although our English wasn't very good, they communicated kindly with us. Linda's cooking is really delicious. The meat used in the dishes comes from the farm's cows and sheep. She is particular about organic vegetables. She always served healthy food and made sure we were full. I had many firsts here. Shearing sheep, moving sheep and cows, seeing baby cows, and touching horses. I also loved playing with their three dogs and the cat. In their free time, they played all kinds of card games with us and we had a lot of fun. It was a very relaxing day surrounded by many animals and nature. Although it is far from the city, I think it is worth going. I would like to visit here again.

First, thank you very much, Linda and Alan, for willingly welcoming my request to stay at such short notice. The vast pastures as far as the eye could see, and the beautiful sunsets were incredible. Even though I had little knowledge about livestock, they gave me detailed information about their work and animals, and I gained new knowledge every day. It was very impressive for me to see crutching and working dogs up close. West Wyalong is a bit far from big cities, so you may be hesitant to visit there, but I think it is worth it for new experiences and a taste of the extraordinary. This time, I stayed for only five days, and I would like to stay longer when I visit Australia again.

Dear Linda and Alen, Thank you for good WWOOFing experience. They are very kind and know a various kind of things. Linda is an amazing cook and I really looked forward to her cooking every day. Alen can drive all kinds of vehicles and even maintains them himself. They told me a lot about organic food, Australian culture, and how to drive a manual car, etc. It was amazing time for me. Especially, it was good memory that they took me to a lot of places such as the Japanese Garden in Cowra, Wagga, and Albury. Thanks for everything and I want to go back to Australia again. Sincerely. P.S. I will continue to treasure photos such as Linda and Alen's cooking.
