Maria Rickert
The Rickert family welcomes you to the middle of the bush! We are a very sociable and informal community consisting of Maria, her three adult children and two grand-children, including Pottery Studio, Café and Farmstay permanent staff and volunteers.
We run a small farming business with horses, goats, sheep and chickens. If you have green fingers, there is a large organic green house that is in constant need of weeding, watering and harvesting. This is the home to the famous Pilliga Pottery, a large and flourishing creative enterprise, not to mention the Blue Wren Cafe that is open six days a week. Our buildings are unique and made from mud-brick, straw bale, rammed earth and local timbers.
WE HAVE AN AMAZING DEEP AND COOL SWIMMING POOL !!!
Volunteering includes gardening (weeding and watering), helping in the pottery studio. Leisure activities include volleyball, swimming, bush walking, bird watching, pottery, sculpture, artwork and playing musical instruments.
If you do not own a vehicle, we will collect you from the bus stop in Coonabarabran.
No smoking inside. Pet friendly.
