John and Carol Lilleyman
Amberly is a 250 acre, family run cattle and free-range egg farm close to the Murrumbidgee River and conveniently located in the suburbs just 20 minutes from the centre of Canberra.
3000 unfenced chickens are free to range at will, protected by our beautiful Maremma guardian dogs.
We have a large vegetable garden, a recently established mixed orchard and bees for family use.
We firmly believe that sustainable farming means looking after the environment as the first priority. We have recently been received a national award from Landcare Australia for Innovation in Agriculature and Land Management.
Work includes fencing, weeding, mowing, gardening, landscaping and working with the farm animals. Longer stays often see wwoofers learning new skills by getting involved in projects where we are building new infrastructure on the farm.
Accomodation in our passive solar straw-bale house.
