Short Property Description
We are a couple living off grid on a hill in Royalla, just outside of Canberra. Our property is 300 acres of forested land.
We are currently building a sustainable home using stone and hempcrete.
We have a garden where we practice Masanobu Fukuoka’s natural farming for vegetable growing combined with syntropic agroforestry. We are at the beginning of our journey and the soil is very depleted but we are already seeing good results in these methods.
We have sheep, goats and chickens for our own production of meat, eggs and dairy products. There are a lot of farming infrastructure projects on our to do list and we love to make improvements to how we do things all the time. We get temperatures between -6 in the winter to 40+ in the summer. We have lots of opportunities to see local animals of all types.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We met wwoofing in Japan almost 20 years ago and we loved it. We went wwoofing many times since, in Europe and Japan.
We believe in the power of sustainable farming to improve the world. We like spreading our life philosophy, teaching and learning from others.
Having wwoofers is a great opportunity to scale some of our work in community with others to maintain and spark the enthusiasm for this important life mission. We want to look after this land and share it’s beauty with as many people as we can. We have a great challenge ahead of us due to the land’s size, and many hands make light work.
