Mt Yibbi Tiny Farm is four acres of mostly established olive trees in Hallett, a small town on the Barrier Highway in the Mid North, South Australia.
Hallett is a true Australian tiny town on the edge of the bush, surrounded by (sometimes snow-capped!) mountains with one pub and a general store and a beautiful public pool and very friendly locals.
Hallett is at the centre of three trails - Heysen, Mawson and Dare's Hill Drive.
Currently being regenerated using permaculture principles, there are various plots and plantings and experiments occurring and room for many more.
Mt Yibbi is the Ngadjuri name for Mt Bryan, which is visible from the back paddock, along with the best sunsets.
The farm is being developed as an Artist's Retreat and there is a library and musical instruments and visual art and plenty of scope for creative expression.
Hallett is close to the Clare Valley and Barossa Wine regions, and half way between Ikara-Flinders Ranges and the city of Adelaide, which are both an easy three hours in either direction
Boss J Clark is the super friendly farm puppy and there is are rabbits, hares and foxes who visit the farm, along with Mama and Joey kangaroo and an echidna, and all the birds you could want.
There are sheep who live across the road, where mobs of kangaroos and emus run. There is a sunroom/office to watch the animals from with pretty good internet as well as a couch and Netflix and a PS4.
The farm offers a range of comfy accommodation: a big farmhouse, a partly renovated cottage, swags with a seasonal bonfire.

Frank and I have lived in Melbourne all our lives but we have decided for a tree change so we purchased a property in Willowmavin in December 2019.
We are both in our early 50's. We are both working part-time with our Melbourne jobs and the rest of the time on the farm. We both work hard but try to find a work life balance which can be challenging.
We are on 135 rolling acres with stunning views of Kilmore and Melbourne. We are situated 90 km from Melbourne, and 15 mins from Kilmore or Lancefield.
We currently have 2 dorper sheep named Brucey and Bella, whom are very friendly and affectionate, 3 frizzle chickens named Vanilla, Chocolate and Caramel and 7 Indian runner ducks. We are also agisting some of our land and have 25 Angus cows.
We started growing garlic immediately which was challenging as it was a huge learning curve. With every step of the process there are challenges but thanks to utube we are finding solutions.
We have just harvested our garlic and getting our next garlic plots ready for this year’s planting. We have so many plans for this farm, but we just don’t have enough time to do it all ourselves.
Some of the projects we dream of building are a Japanese onsen, a hobbit house and a pontoon. We also want to plant more trees on the property too. So many dreams, so little time 🙂

Hi there lovely travellers! Sam (37) Clara (31) and Reilly (1.5) here. While Reilly was just a twinkle our eyes, Clara and I spent 4.5 years travelling Australia in our awesome veggie oil-powered Landcruiser, searching for the most beautiful spots to set up camp and call home for a week or two. After our first 3 month tour of Tasmania, we just fell in love with the place, returning every summer for more of the same. Somehow we just knew we'd end up here. As we travelled, we gained a real appreciation for simple living and developed a taste for the best organic local food sourced from farmers markets as we went. This just helped fuel the dream of a beautiful camp to set up in permanently, and do our best at living a low impact, natural, self-sufficient, homesteading lifestyle. When 6 months pregnant, out of the blue, the bank of Dad called up and offered a loan to help make our dream come true. And we‘ve always dreamed big.

The Berry Street farm is a 35-acre property, located on the western edge of the Blue Mountains in NSW. It has 6 acres of farmland which was originally part of a dairy Co-op, established in the early 1900s.
The property also has about 30 acres of bushland including two sandstone pagodas which provides expansive views around the countryside. We regularly have visits from native wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and a broad range of native birds.
We are currently establishing an organic vegetable and flower production system. I have 30 years experience in environmental restoration programs, including the use of rain gardens, passive irrigation systems, creek line and wetland rehabilitation and have an interest in regenerative agriculture.
We think you will enjoy your visit to our farm.

I know someone who is into bio-dynamic organic farming & he's going to help me with this new project.
We are going to design & then execute a master plan for the property so it is as self- reliant as possible, we will also be using knowledge from Peter Andrews about how to turn the usually dry seasonal creek bed into a permanent year round water source, we will be doing swales & contouring of the land to slow down the water flow & to hopefully give it year round hydration that won't require hardly any extra irrigation.
I already had an organic vege garden in town which was great, but the idea is to expand on that.
There is a lake just next door (3-5 min drive and you are at the water’s edge), Mount Glorious Rd is also just 3 minutes away which is also a beautiful area to explore.

OUR LISTING IS SUSPENDED UNTIL JULY 2021.
Our place at Blackheath in the Blue Mountains of NSW was burnt in a bush fire on 22nd December 2019. We need help with land clearing of burnt areas so that we can restore our fences as well as taking the opportunity to remove weeds in the burnt areas where they have reappeared and planting out up to 1,000 canopy tree seedlings to restore the native habitat.
We are on 3.2 Ha of which 80% has been burnt. Luckily the orchard, greenhouse and organic vegie garden was saved, so we need help with preparing the spring garden and winter harvest, in addition to the restoration work.
We are dedicated permaculture followers and live according to sustainability principles. We have recently taken over a dilapidated property surrounded by bush, although the house is in good condition.
We have cleared the orchard and Vegie area and have Planted a Permaculture garden. However there is still a lot to be done. Under our guidance, weeds and undergrowth need to be cleared, compost, wood bins managed and our greenhouse attended to, as well as continuing to plant out the herb and vegetable garden. Other tasks include clearing the bushland of weeds, preparing new garden beds and building a pergola for kiwi fruit vines.
We need people who are strong, with some landscape gardening experience.
Accomodation for 1, 2 or 3 close friends in a separate wing of our home with its own kitchen and bathroom and separate entry - would suit a couple or single person. Shared meals each evening. or Food provided to prepare your own breakfast and lunch. Mixed diet. Vegetarians catered for. No children. No smoking on property. Initial stay 6-10 days, longer stays negotiable. Prefer min 2 week stays.
