Our small plot intensive farm called MAD Rams Potager Gardens is at it infancy stage of development. We are committed to a number of farming methodologies which include permaculture/ no dig principles and Aboriginal traditional agricultural practices which we believe make a our farm somewhat unique.
We are want g to create an ecologically supportive sustainable farm which has the ability to adapt to changing climatic conditions while also bring to the local community both traditional foods and introduced foods which complement each other rather than compete.
We also have a beautiful historically rich spacious home which we are happy to share with volunteer WWOOFers…we also welcome volunteers to gain an understanding of Aboriginal culture and the Australian culture which makes this beautiful country unique…our farm has some challenges but we have a vision which we believe every volunteer will be able to leave an eco footprint…we hope to foster great relationships shared knowledge and some wisdom in our exchange…MAD Rams Potage Gardens will be one if the first market gardens in our area which is exciting and challenging yet definitely rewarding.
We have amazing birdlife and animals we are surrounded by one if the most intact temperate forests in the world and a beautiful bay. We are also located in the gorgeous night skies of the aroura Australia lights….We chose this beautiful place because if it’s dependable rainfall community and opportunity to give back to the land and eco system in keeping with Aboriginal custodial tradition. We welcome you to consider joining us for part of our journey and be part of MAD Rams establishment… We will also open our home for you to experience traditional and home cooked meals.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

John and I decided to become hosts to WWOOFers because we believe in sharing both our knowledge and we will no doubt learn from you…We enjoy sharing and learning from rich cultural exchanges…We also believe visitors to Australia do not get to really know the local way of life and seldom experience Aboriginal culture even contemporary Aboriginal culture..
We also have a lovely large home and want to share this with others, the WWOOFer program bring both community and sustainable, organically based ways of living together MAD Rams Potager Gardens will be developed in a way which respects Aboriginal agricultural practices while embracing complementary and ecologically enhancing non indigenous practices. We might not be the largest farm experience but we believe we offer a pretty unique experience.

Organic/Biological methods we use

MAD Rams Potager Gardens is being created to support and provide an example of sustainable, small plot farming using an integrated approach in using Aboriginal agricultural practices supported by permaculture, biodynamics and no dig gardening with organic principles.
We are also using and experimenting with a range of water and soil management processes to ensure we adapt and survive climatic changes due to global warming and irresponsible government and corporate inaction
