We have a 40acre property located alongside the Nowendoc River in the mid-north coast NSW. It is currently a working primitive campground. We are planting native plants on the riverbank to prevent erosion; restoring our rainforest areas and looking to reinvigorate the established orchard; egg farming and plantings of local native plants including bushfoods and medicinal plants. The establishment of the orchard, vegges and support with the riverbank and rainforest restoration program.
I have always been interested in the WWOOF program. When I travelled overseas in the 1990s, I worked on properties in Scotland and UK, and retained the connections to this day. I believe this offers a great opportunity for young people, not only to learn skills in plant and animal management, but also offers a safe space for young people when travelling, and time to just relax and be looked after a little.
Organic/Biological methods we use
We are a biodynamic property. We use natural processes and do not use any form of chemicals in the production of our fruit, veges and egg production. We make our own soil and are looking to establish a green house to grow native plants with seeds harvested on the property to be transformed into tubestock support our on farm plantings.
