Kathryn Jones
Delightful large suburban block near the Macleay River. Restoring gardens after 30yrs of neglect. This is the house I grew up in so it has a lot of sentimental value Establishing orchid, veg gardens, compost systems & preparing for chickens . Beautiful outlook onto cow paddocks. Need help with all of the above.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

I’ve been a wwoofer myself & love the exchange of work, cooking, conversation, different cultures and just meeting new people doing what I love ..gardening. Oh- and I’m a good cook as well.

Organic/Biological methods we use

I use homemade safe pest deterrent, fertilise with my super worm juice, mulch with organic sugar cane and fairly well make all my own compost. I like to follow the lasagne method of layering organic matter to create garden beds and use worm castings to enrich my soil and garden beds. I encourage birds, insects and worms in my garden and mix vegetables with flowers and native bushes. I have also created a native garden that encourages the smaller birds to the garden and have provided shelter, water and preferred food
