    Short Property Description

We live on approximately 2 acres of land in the Adelaide Hills, comprising of three adjoinng blocks. Together, the property has a range of vegetable gardens, an orchard, chicken runs, worm farms, bee hive and native vegetation. We have been working on permaculture principles to create a property that produces a range of food, works in harmony with the native vegetation of the area and assists in its revegetation, minimises waste, stores and uses water efficiently, and more. Produce grown on the property is both eaten fresh and preserved. There are currently many projects taking place on the property, from building dry stone walls, constructing shedding for firewood supplies, revegetating creek lines, and erecting an anti-avery.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

We aim to use permaculture principles on our property and in our lives. We have an integrated approach to land use – some is there purely for aesthetic purposes, some is productive and produces the food we eat, and other areas are for conservation. We see that humans and their environment are interwoven and can not be seen in isolation.

Our property provides a wide range of experiences for volunteers, from planting to preserving, designing to building, small scale projects to large scale.
