Badgers Flats has been hosting wwoofers for four years now! Its been great up until this point. It’s a pretty rough and wild world out here, living on the doorstep of both some incredible wilderness and Tasmanias largest native timber mill certainly has its challenges. Fighting for peace really is a challenging contradiction. These days I’m looking for a commited group of people who are interested in fully developing a market garden style organic garden. If you need a space to put that dream of yours to practice I can provide it. Normally I start sowing and planting seeds around September but you could start sooner by preparing the beds. Its possible to grow basically all the standard veggies here, if you wanted to sell them at the Market the Jubury market happens every second Sunday of every month. Its a good little market and busy.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

I became a wwoofer host four years ago, before then I had been inspired by other wwoofer hosts their passion for their art and their lifestyles. I was inspired to share my passion. Now I’m a bit older. I am interested in finding people who are as inspired and energetic as I was. I would prefer people who have already had some experience but now really want to give organic gardening/farming a go. It may take up to a year to start and finish a crop. Under my guidance and supervision you can use this land to fully develop market gardening practices and self sufficent living.

Organic/Biological methods we use

After visiting a highly productive farm in Germany I’ve become interested in compost tea, they claim to have used only a molassus mix. Im trying to get away from fossil fuels.
