Our 12-acre property in the Northern Rivers is the ideal size for a “stacked” regenerative system, where different enterprises work together to restore soil health while producing food. Regeneration on a small scale focuses on moving away from industrial inputs and toward biological cycles. Our Dexter cattle are a “dual-purpose” heritage breed (meat and milk) perfectly suited for our farm size. Chickens act as the “clean-up crew” in the regenerative system. The garden serves as the final link in the farm’s closed-loop nutrient cycle.
Why I became a WWOOF Host
We are wanting to be part of building a community of like-minded people from across Australia and the world by turning the daily routines of farming and self sustainability into a social experience, with an exchange of diverse skills and new perspectives from other farms they have visited. We want to inspire the next generation of organic and regenerative farmers and strengthen the global movement toward sustainable food systems and environmental restoration.
Organic/Biological methods we use
We try to use holistic land management practices to restore our soil health, increase biodiversity, improve our waterways, and sequester carbon, to actively regenerate our lands ecosystems using natural processes. Key techniques include no-till/minimal tillage, diverse cover cropping, integrated crop-livestock systems, reduced chemical inputs, and adaptive grazing, all focused on building healthy, living soil rich in organic matter.

Courses & Events
No classes at this time on our property. However, The Farm Byron Bay hosts immersive, multi-day courses (like Living Agroecology) specifically for the Byron Shire region which we are 45 minutes drive from, focusing on subtropical systems and local conditions. There is also Syntropic Solutions (also based near Byron at Ocean Shores) who offer courses at Ground Currumbin (aslo 45 minutes away) regularly. We have done these courses and highly recommend them. We’ll go again with you!
