Small family run farm on the South Coast specialising in blueberries. We have established our farm based on permaculture and biodynamic principles. We recognise the farmland (over 90 acres), waters and animals are all connected and part of the greater surrounding eco-system. The farm backs onto the Murramarang National Park and is close to many beautiful beaches. The farm is completely off-grid and our preference is to sell our produce locally to reduce carbon miles and also ensuring the fruit is as fresh as it can be for our customers. We also grow figs, sheep and have lots of pet farm animals (pygmy goats, horses, chickens, ducks and geese), and one awesome dog.
We joined as a WWOOF host as we believe there is a lot we can learn from having people on our farm who are interested in farming practices like ours and we would value their help with our farm. As a small farm we don’t have lots of workers all year round but there is always plenty to do. We’re in a beautiful part of the South Coast so when not on the farm there is so much for WWOOFers to see and do. Our farm accommodation is well set up so you can have your own space as well as being part of farm activities.
Organic/Biological methods we use
Wherever possible we use organic materials to fertilise and protect our blueberries, including having our sheep in the orchard over winter. We also have a gaggle of geese and ducks, our permaculture warriors who eat the bugs and grass. We also have bees to assist with pollination. On our other parts of the farm we mulch the grass rather than slash. We have fenced off our creeks to protect them and make them wildlife corridors.
