Short Property Description
Family property at Snelling Beach on Kangaroo Island.
Our business and lifestyle are immersed in nature. We spend a great deal of time cooking gourmet meals for ourselves and our paying guests, local shops are far, so we are wanting to grow more and more food on site. We already use Mulberries, figs from our Orchard and we forage Salt bush, tetragonia (spinach) and Samphire which are all included in our menus. Our goals with helpers into the future we will aquire chickens and grow much more vegetables. We are offering very comfortable seaside accommodation for two (double or king bed), inside a private dwelling. A food allowance of 350 dollars per week, per couple as well as some family meals together at least once per week in exchange for 4 hours per day help per person. (five days work per week so you can set off on longer trips across the island) Currently we are seeking help with those who have knowledge about doing up vans or buses with some carpentry skills. Specifically, knowledge of making miniature bathrooms would be great but we know that could be long shot. We have a huge old bus that already has a bedroom and power but needs to be finished off with a bathroom for future WOOFERS vision to be fully realised. Accommodation for you would be in a different house until the bus is finished. We are also needing caring for our beloved 2 year old Kelpie, Xochitl. Other work might include outdoor garden work such as brush cutting, mowing and some planting of herbs and simple veggie garden fencing You will need a driver’s license as we are super remote.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
During Covid we were stuck in Mexico and worked in exchange for accommodation. We hope to pay it forward as we had an incredible time and it was a wonderful opportunity. We looked after street dogs and helped with the vet in exchange for accommodation. We also have hosted travellers at our property for many years, and we have found the exchange programs the most rewarding
