Creekwood Homestead – Matthew & Claire
New off-grid family homestead in the Kyogle region of Northern NSW, being built from the ground up. We started with raw bushland and are steadily developing gardens, orchard areas and basic infrastructure. Simple, rural setting with van parking and compost toilet facilities. Practical outdoor help needed.
Why I became a WWOOF Host
We joined WWOOF because we genuinely value community, cultural exchange, and the energy travelers bring. We’ve lived in the Northern Rivers in community settings and spent years in senior operations management of tourism businesses, so welcoming people and creating positive environments feels very natural to us.
Our vision for this homestead is long-term — to build something meaningful from the ground up, rooted in resilience, simplicity, and connection to land. WWOOF feels like a natural extension of that journey.
We love travelling ourselves and understand how important it is to find safe, respectful places when you’re on the road. We hope to offer a grounded, fair exchange where people can experience rural Australian bush life while contributing in a practical way.

Organic/Biological methods we use
We follow practical, low-input, organic principles while developing the property. As a new homestead being built from raw bushland, our focus is on improving soil health, composting, mulching, and building productive garden systems from the ground up.
We prioritise:
No synthetic pesticides or herbicides
Manual weed control and brush management
Composting and recycling organic matter
Heavy mulching to improve soil structure and moisture retention
Natural fertilisers where needed
Encouraging biodiversity and beneficial insects
We are steadily establishing orchard and garden areas using regenerative and biological methods suited to our climate and soil conditions. As the homestead evolves, so do our systems.
If you have relevant skills, practical experience, or knowledge in organic growing, regenerative methods, or land development, we welcome that input and are always open to learning and collaboration where appropriate.
