Why I became a WWOOF Host

We became a wwoof host to share this beautiful part of Australia with travellers from the world who are willing to help us on our farm and experience our wonderful lifestyle

Organic/Biological methods we use

Vanilla is an orchid and grows on trellises, we have wire mesh mulch baskets at the base of the trellises which are filled with coconut husk, we have an automatic watering system, the vanilla is harvested from April to September and we hand pollinate from August to December, We applicate with liquid organic fertilizers once a year. Vanilla has no issues with pests etcetera, The orchard is all under the shade of the natural forest and so cool and shady all year round, The mulch beds need to be maintained so we are often out collecting coconuts which we husk to top up the mulch baskets. during harvest we are also curing the vanilla .
