Short Property Description
Join Ben, Hayley, Luna (🐶) & Sammy (😺) on our 5 acre garden paradise, natives, established trees, 3 creeks, 2 large veggie plots, just planted orchard, chickens, roaming ducks, a dam for swimming, 10 minutes from the beach. We’re doing things as organically as we can, using majority certified organic inputs, feeding the chickens organic feed & eating an organic diet. We moved to the property last year in July, we’re having an excellent time learning how to garden, build, fix, maintain all sorts of equipment and structures. Hayley and I would love assistance with gardening, building, processing produce (& if we get enough) selling at the local markets. We love being surrounded by plants and animals, both very health conscious, opting for natural soaps & detergents – aiming for an artificial chemical free home.
Your accommodation will be our front room, reasonably small western facing room, a nice sized window with views of the neighbours cow pasture, single bed & set of shelves with a desk. A wonderful spot to sit in the afternoon. Meals, shower, laundry etc provided as long as you’re happy to help with cleaning up. No wifi sorry! 🌞
Organic/Biological methods we use
We try to use as much organic as we can – always opting for certified organic inputs. I collect seaweed from the local beach, pine needles from a nearby forest, fish from the local fish monger. I’ve made my own soil bacteria in the past. I believe in quality & variety for inputs. I use a rotary hoe to till the soil then plant, I’m having a go at growing from cuttings. We frequent the local native plant nursery & are slowly filling up the property.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
Hayley and I have travelled around a little, trips to Japan then Vietnam & Thailand. We love meeting new people, experiencing different culture, showing people around our home & hosting events. We chose to become hosts because Hayley is now pregnant, so no more travel for a while (bring the travel to us!) & we need some more hands to help with maintaining the property & caring for the animals. As the weeds germinate, the blackberries come into fruit & the produce starts rolling in, we need to find someone to help with all the added tasks.
