Livestock property close to Perth. Cattle, Sheep, Stock Dogs (Border Collies) and show Mini-Dachshunds. We are successful and innovative regenerative farmers with a ‘paddock to plate’ grass-fed lamb business; flower/florist and plant shop, and are huge animal lovers.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We are ’empty-nesters’ (in our 50’s) who want to share our life from time-to-time with young, interesting people with shared interests that come from other parts of the world with different backgrounds. We are busy people who love to teach (Chris has spent two decades as an agricultural trainer); we would like a bit of a hand, for us to all pitch in to help us get our work done, so that we can enjoy more of life, particularly with other young people.

Organic/Biological methods we use

We are truly regenerative farmers. We started (which Chris chairs) a statewide regenerative livestock grower group (R & D, Field Days, etc) that has run farm trials in many aspects of regenerative agriculture; measures Ecological Verification Outcomes, and Natural Capital Accounting. We pioneered multispecies cover cropping in the region; do not use any chemicals; we direct drill, mulch. Our Soil Health is important. Even our garden follows permacultural guidelines – compositing, using beneficials, and developing a hydroponic system to produce fresh fruit and vegetables year-round. Our livestock enterprise is ‘paddock to plate’ – turning off some of our lamb (approx. 250) a year direct to consumers, all grass-fed year round, using fodder crops, pasture and silage.
