Tom and Jeannette
Welcome to the Victorian High Country.
Our 22 acres property in the Victorian Alps, near Omeo is settled amongst beautiful mountain ranges and gumtrees. We are surrounded by state forest and cattle farms only a stone through away from the Victorian ski fields.

Our area is known for trout fishing, mountain biking, hiking , 4×4 driving, hunting and simply to enjoy mother nature.
For the past 4 years we have developed a fruit tree orchard and started the growing process of nut trees such as walnuts and hazelnuts. We have build a commercial greenhouse where we are planting our seedlings as well as growing seasonal fruits and vegetables using organic and permaculture principles.
We are surrounded by Australian wildlife, pristine clean mountain air and Australian serenity – a welcome rest for the soul away from the stress of city life.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We have good and positive feedback from be-friended farmers about the woofing community and are keen to check it out for our own property.

Organic/Biological methods we use

We are farming under the guidance of permaculture advisors attending regularly our farm giving inputs and contributing know how to the design and outlay of our farm.
Jeannette is an herbalist and is growing most of her herbs on our farm to be used in her tinctures and creams.
We are pretty much still at the beginning of our commercial farming as most of our trees are still young and  our first harvest of fruits and nuts are still 2 to 3 years away. In the meantime, we grow other seasonal fruits and vegetables on our farm as well as plenty of natural herbs.
Tom is always busy building garden beds such as wicking beds or working on the tractor to create new planting spaces for more trees or vegetable plants.
Our small amount of farm animals is always in need of care and are part of our family in the day-today life.
