Shambhala Oasis is a 10 acre rain forest property in Northern NSW Rivers Region which is being developed as a Spiritual Sanctuary and Learning Centre. One component of the vision is Shambhala Enterprise Cottage Industries, which includes organic production of fruit, veges & bush tucker superfoods. We are at the early stages of developing this property with quite a lot of planting, watering, bush fire mitigation, and building maintenance to do. The property is also dedicated land for nature, and we are blessed with a huge range of native birds, cute bush wallabies and panoramic views. Suitable for mature honest people with a sincere interest in non violence, spirituality & systemic change who can work unsupervised and love wildlife. This is an alcohol, tobacco & other drug free space thats loosely run like a post modern ashram or meditation centre with simple plant based diet.

We are nestled on 100 acres of stunning bushland in the midst of the Wattagan forest of the Lower Hunter Valley, 1.5 hours from Sydney. There is a wide variety of wildlife including lyrebirds, wallabies, echidnas and wombats, blue and fairy wrens, kookaburras, satin bower birds, black and sulphur crested cockatoos. We are growing tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchinis, mustard greens, rocket, kale, broccoli, carrots, beans (all types), herbs (all types), citrus, and many other fruits and vegetables. We are in the process of developing a master plan for our property, having moved here in August 2018. We will be increasing the number of fruit trees, are continually expanding the vegetable gardens, and enjoy fresh eggs with our 9 chickens and 2 roosters (father and son). The property is situated on the crest of a hill, with a beautiful area for camping and meandering in the valley by a natural brook, and another area at the top for workshops and retreats which we plan to establish or host. Keith has a background in ag science and biotech start-ups (after a first career as a university professor); Brynnie has been growing not-for-profit organisations in the sustainability, health, digital media with Indigenous communities, and social justice space (after a first career in international corporate law) and has studied Zen Shiatsu. Keith has lived in Germany and Brynnie is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese (having lived in Brazil) and gets by in French. Our children are in their early 20s, in university, and Keith also has older children and young grandchildren. We moved to this property in 2018 after having lived in Sydney for more than 25 years.

We are located north of sunny Brisbane in a beautiful native forest. We are regenerating the native bush land with local and interstate Australian native plants, most we propagate from seed, to attract birds and wildlife. We have many beautiful birds visit daily, parrots, cockatoo, kookaburra, lorikeets... and wallabies, koala and possums on occasions. We are interested in permaculture landscaping to create an habitat for birds and wildlife and where people can live harmoniously. We are creative people and live sustainably. We have an organic vegetable garden. I have been gardening all my life. I propagate my vegetables and herbs from saved seeds. Richard has a lot of experience in construction and loves designing and building with recycled timber. We have a large comfortable home with a swimming pool which is solar heated. You will have a private bedroom and bathroom with a very comfortable bed. Brisbane is in the subtropical region which means we have beautiful sunny weather most days of the year. We enjoy going with our volunteers to beaches, walking in the rainforests and hiking to the waterfall to swim. And certain times of the year we love to go whale watching and to visit the sea turtles nesting and hatching. We are both gourmet cooks. We are not chefs but we did own a restaurant a few years ago. We love healthy food and we are mostly vegetarian although we cater to any diet choices. We have many interesting and creative projects we need help with outside and occasionally inside. We require people to work 4-6 hours per day with 2 days off per week. We provide breakfast lunch and dinner. We would prefer people to stay at least two weeks and long term is an option. If you like our profile please send us a message.

We (Christy and DJ) have the most wonderful piece of paradise in Northern NSW, in the Byron Hinterland. We have owned our little piece of heaven for about 2.5 years. Our working farm has 400 mature, organic avocado trees that had been neglected for several years before we bought the property. We are working hard to give these beauties the care they need to thrive once again.

50-acre hobby farm, nestled in between the Burrum Coast National Park and the Isis River on a section of pristine waterway, a breathtaking natural environment. 30 minutes from Hervey Bay. Sandy soil means we start from scratch building raised garden areas and creating fertile soil using the resources nature supplies. Meet our friendly chickens and see nature up close as parrots, ducks, kangaroos, and wallabies regularly come to browse. Swim in the river, fish, kayak, bird watch or just relax in your downtime.

The Berry Street farm is a 35-acre property, located on the western edge of the Blue Mountains in NSW. It has 6 acres of farmland which was originally part of a dairy Co-op, established in the early 1900s. The property also has about 30 acres of bushland including two sandstone pagodas which provides expansive views around the countryside. We regularly have visits from native wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and a broad range of native birds. We are currently establishing an organic vegetable and flower production system. I have 30 years experience in environmental restoration programs, including the use of rain gardens, passive irrigation systems, creek line and wetland rehabilitation and have an interest in regenerative agriculture. We think you will enjoy your visit to our farm.

City/Town: Blackheath

Accommodation Type: In Our Home
Our place at Blackheath in the Blue Mountains of NSW was burnt in a bush fire on 22nd December 2019. We urgently need help with land clearing of burnt areas so that we can restore our fences as well as taking the opportunity to remove weeds in the burnt areas where they have reappeared and planting out up to 1,000 canopy tree seedlings to restore the native habitat. We are on 3.2 Ha of which 80% has been burnt. Luckily the orchard, greenhouse and organic vegie garden was saved, so we need help with preparing the spring garden and winter harvest, in addition to the restoration work. https://wwoof.com.au/2nd-3rd-year-visa-news-update-from-the-wwoof-office/   We are dedicated permaculture followers and live according to sustainability principles. We have recently taken over a dilapidated property surrounded by bush, although the house is in good condition. We have cleared the orchard and Vegie area and have Planted a Permaculture garden. However there is still a lot to be done. Under our guidance, weeds and undergrowth need to be cleared, compost, wood bins managed and our greenhouse attended to, as well as continuing to plant out the herb and vegetable garden. Other tasks include clearing the bushland of weeds, preparing new garden beds and building a pergola for kiwi fruit vines. We need people who are strong, with some landscape gardening experience. Accom for 1, 2 or 3 close friends in a separate wing of our home with its own kitchen and bathroom and separate entry - would suit a couple or single person. Shared meals each evening. or Food provided to prepare your own breakfast and lunch. Mixed diet. Vegetarians catered for. No children. No smoking on property. Initial stay 6-10 days, longer stays negotiable. Prefer min 2 week stays.

City/Town: Halls Gap
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, Separate Building
3hrs from Melbourne Airport I am a retired secondary school teacher and run a small BnB business and, having moved onsite recently, I am establishing the garden and maintaining the property. I keep bees, and wish soon to increase the number of hives I have. I have hosted many Couchsurfers in my own flat, but will provide more private accommodation with the help of WWOOFers ASAP. The property is within a short distance of the Halls Gap village, and is set adjacent to the very popular Grampians National Park, famous for its mountains, wildlife and hiking and climbing. There is usually abundant opportunity for additional work in local restaurants, etc., if desired.
