Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. Due to the corona virus all our booked overseas helpers had to cancel their flight to Australia. The first time in Years we might at times be without helpers at all. Some local Australian helpers, unable to go overseas are now filling the gap which is very nice as we used to have overseas helpers only before. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, a Muscovy duck, flower beds, lawns as well as two goats on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. Bernward is semi retired but still runs a sustainable architecture and building consultancy business part time from offices attached to the home. Barbara works at the local hospital. We have been accommodating helpers since 2011  through various help exchange sites. If you want a break from travelling in a non judgmental  friendly  family environment and you are open and self-motivated, this is the place for you. This is not an action or party place but rather a place to relax and get creative with great light, & scenery for painting and photography, write and get back to nature. A big woodworking workshop invites creativity. I enjoy teaching woodworking skills to our helpers with the option to learn how to fit out campervans and tiny houses. A couple of times a week we heat up our Sauna and helpers are welcome to join. Help is always needed in the garden & paddock, picking berries & apples, looking after animals, weed control, making firewood, compost, cleaning up sheds & around the place, sometimes on a sustainable building site. We live 45min by car from Adelaide, 45min from safe swimming beaches & 45min from the surf, so we are pretty central. Accommodation  for 2 in separate stone cottage & own room in the main building. All share in home cooked evening meal. Mixed diet. No smokers please. Longer stays (min 3 weeks) preferred after initial few days. Please contact us via email only.

We need help to build new animal pens, a new vegie garden and  help to repair our food forest.  Accom for two friends or a couple in the  Tiny House. It has  twosingle beds,  tv, WIFI,  kitchen, shower, table and chairs. Access to toilet and washing machine nearby. MEALS: Money is provided for you to buy your own groceries and prepare your own meals.  Due to the bush fire, the government allows us work on our property to contrubute towards your working visa. We joined WWOOF because we want to reduce our environmental impact and try to live our lives in a sustainable way. We are both quite practical but we would like to offer our time and energy to learn new skills from our hosts that we can take with us in our journey to becoming more self-sufficient. And of course we look forward to visiting all the places in Australia we've not yet explored!

PLEASE RING, no emails! 🙂 We are situated in the Byron bay hinterlands, about 35 mins to Byron, 20 mins. to Lismore. Come and join our patchwork family on our farm. We love gardening, regenerating the land and engaging in arts and crafts such as hand tool woodworking, blacksmithing, sewing, bread making, painting, drawing etc. We also love building structures, rock walls and designing landscapes. We have chickens and a Kelpie dog (Rosie) and sometimes there are horses as well. We have a kitchen garden as well as a subtropical and tropical fruit orchard and Australian bush foods. Our farming and gardening methods are organic and we believe in a sustainable lifestyle. We are close to the Night Cap National Park (Minyon Falls) and good, local swimming holes. Jobs for people wanting to help us include gardening, weeding, landscaping, feeding our animals, building projects and cooking and eating good food. 🙂 We are a patchwork family that is always up for action and fun and we have a toddler, too, who loves being entertained and part of it all! 🙂

Hello! We're a couple living in the beautiful Tamar Valley of Tasmania. We've been living here for about two years, enjoying the great surroundings of Tamar River/kanamaluka. Our property lies directly on Stony Brook, a small stream that enters the main river. We get regular visitors like black swans, egrets, pelicans and eagles. We've also seen echidna's on the property. We have a number of free-range animals, including chickens, turkeys and alpacas. We also have our two dogs, Bella and Meesha. In addition, we grow vegetables and fruit in our garden, using organic techniques to get tomatoes, zucchini, nectarines, and herbs, amongst other plants. There are lots of things to do each day to maintain the property, garden and animals. We're pretty outgoing, taking the chance to visit the best spots Tasmania has to offer. We've seen a lot, but there's plenty for us still to see! We have kayaks and camping gear, which you'll be able to use. We live in a small village called Blackwall, about 25 minutes drive from Launceston. We're only a short walk from the shops in nearby Exeter or the cafes in Gravelly Beach. We're even within walking distance of a local winery. It's just close enough to conveniences without the hustle and bustle of a big town.

I joined WWOOF because I'm wanting to learn more about organic farming - particularly permaculture, as well as contribute to a different community in Australia other than my hometown of Canberra. I’m resolved to centre my life around producing food; to become community-sufficient. I can see myself living on a small block of land, cultivating a food forest to produce food for my community members in exchange for other items or services, or for free for people who are in need. Organic farming/permaculture overlaps with many of my great passions: being outside, producing healthy food and healing the environment. I’ve grown up around people with productive food spaces in their suburban backyards, and since a young age, I have cultivated the backyard of my family home. But I know I still have much to learn. Coupled with this is my hankering to move out of the city. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and thankfully the opportunity has recently emerged. I would be extremely grateful for a space to contribute to and learn from. I think I would find it extremely replenishing and inspiring.
