Bonnie Brae is a 1000 acre farm which has transitioned into regenerative agriculture in the past year from industrial agriculture. The farms main income is Merino sheep, both for wool and meat. However we have a very large vegetable garden and orchard which we are still looking to expand. The farm is owned by Don and Prue McAllister (65), and Dougal (27) is taking over the farm and manages the day to day work. Hilary (30), the daughter of Don and Prue is also home during Covid 19. Work for WWOOFers will include working and expanding the vegetable garden, fencing, painting, building maintenance, cooking, cleaning, picking pistachios, tree planting and much more. If WWOOFers have any skills or ideas, we would be more than welcome to let them explore their interests and put them into practice.

A secret spot! This 112 acre stunning farm located in Central Victoria is home to Lauren (33years Australian) and Arthur (33years, French) and around 50 wild Kangaroos. The beautiful site is surrounded by rolling hills and expansive skylines. The farm site is being revegetated and developed to host 2 annual wellbeing festivals. We are currently creating a nursery for revegetation of the natural landscape, building native garden beds, vegetable gardens, dams, roads, paths, rock walls and natural artworks to inspire and delight. We have a private 24ft newly renovated Caravan with separate bedroom and lounge/kitchen with private outdoor toilet and shower (with amazing views). Use of house bathroom, laundry, deck, living room and wifi. The shops are 15mins away and you will have a car to use. ( petrol covered) We will share meals, provide drinks and fierce competition in board and card games. 🙂 A beautiful place to stay during lockdown

I joined wwoof because I'm craving a simpler existence closer to nature. To get away from the noise for a while be a part of a team of like minded individuals working together. I've been looking for paid work fruit picking but throughout this process it's made me really reflect on what I value and what I need right now, and that's to support and be a part of something I truly care about. I've never worked on a farm before but I'm a quick learner, a hard worker and very self motivated. I want to learn everything I can about organic farming and get my hands dirty in the process. I'm at a crossroads on my journey, ready for change and to do something I've never done before. I hope to gain new knowledge, new skills and new connections. I would just absolutely love to experience working on an organic farm and feel I have a lot to give in the process 🙂

Heartwood Farm is a 7 acre property at Newrybar in the Byron Bay Hinterland. The farm includes a mixed orchard, an intensive market garden, pasture, and a rainforest revegetation project, all managed organically.  WWOOFers will be exposed to the techniques of intensive organic fruit and vegetable production, including green manuring, composting, and crop rotation, along with rainforest regeneration. Heartwood is still in its development phase, so WWOOFers will also be exposed to a sustainability-focused design process emerging from landscape and climate observations of this unique location.
