Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. Due to the corona virus all our booked overseas helpers had to cancel their flight to Australia. The first time in Years we might at times be without helpers at all. Some local Australian helpers, unable to go overseas are now filling the gap which is very nice as we used to have overseas helpers only before. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, a Muscovy duck, flower beds, lawns as well as two goats on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. Bernward is semi retired but still runs a sustainable architecture and building consultancy business part time from offices attached to the home. Barbara works at the local hospital. We have been accommodating helpers since 2011  through various help exchange sites. If you want a break from travelling in a non judgmental  friendly  family environment and you are open and self-motivated, this is the place for you. This is not an action or party place but rather a place to relax and get creative with great light, & scenery for painting and photography, write and get back to nature. A big woodworking workshop invites creativity. I enjoy teaching woodworking skills to our helpers with the option to learn how to fit out campervans and tiny houses. A couple of times a week we heat up our Sauna and helpers are welcome to join. Help is always needed in the garden & paddock, picking berries & apples, looking after animals, weed control, making firewood, compost, cleaning up sheds & around the place, sometimes on a sustainable building site. We live 45min by car from Adelaide, 45min from safe swimming beaches & 45min from the surf, so we are pretty central. Accommodation  for 2 in separate stone cottage & own room in the main building. All share in home cooked evening meal. Mixed diet. No smokers please. Longer stays (min 3 weeks) preferred after initial few days. Please contact us via email only.

I discovered WWOOF when I was planning a trip to Canada earlier this year. The plan was to travel from West to East but spend some quality time WWOOFing, learn some sustainable permaculture skills with like-minded people. As you can imagine the lockdowns delayed those plans, now almost indefinitely, so the next best thing is to do it in Australia.

I am looking for experiences that expand my perspective of how it is possible to thrive in today's world with purpose and integrity. Moreover, I believe that living with people is a great way to allow deeper connections to happen. I think that WWOOFing is an excellent opportunity to learn about & experience regenerative living, meet inspiring people on a deep level as well as enjoy quiet time in Nature.

I'm currently living and studying in Melbourne but would love to use my university holidays to spend a few weeks out of the city with nature, making new connections, exploring alternative lifestyles, and taking on physical/hands-on work and skills to complement my university studies. Last year I spent 3 beautiful months WWOOFing in Northern NSW and another 4 months in NSW/Tasmania picking blueberries and cherries so I'm well accustomed to the outdoor lifestyle and working in a variety of weather conditions. I've also recently moved into a new house and am excited to learn new knowledge and skills to apply to my empty garden!.

I am going to be travelling around Australia by myself and want to connect with like-minded people and learn as much as possible along the way. I learn best through hands-on experience so I thought this would be a good way to learn while helping people along the way.

I think this will give me a deeper understanding and greater appreciation of the places I visit. I do not enjoy staying in motels etc when holidaying and enjoy meeting people, getting to know them and learn about their life stories.

We've spent almost six months fitting out our van because we love this way of travelling which allows freedom and close contact with nature. We also like the fact that living off-grid makes you realise the preciousness of energy and water resources and therefore makes you pay greater attention to your consumption. We've joined WWOOF because we strongly believe that changes need to come now regarding the environmental crisis and we want to learn skills that will help us become sustainable inhabitants of this planet, such as permaculture, organic and biodynamic farming. We are also very keen on learning natural building techniques. And if on top of this, we can have some friendly animals as roommates, that would be perfect !

I am building a Tiny house with my partner and would like to live on the land in an intentional community in the near future so am very interested in experiencing and learning from people who are already underway in these lifestyles.

I have been a previous member and stayed on Host properties in Victoria and experience a range of enterprises and am seeking to do so again. I come from being raised in rural South Australia and managed the family broadacre cereal cropping farm for 8 years before venturing off farm into other avenues. I have been living in Adelaide for the past 15+ years and had my own businesses in Tourism and Creative Arts/Photography. I am currently the Founder and Community Manager of the e.mbrace movement started in July 2020.

We joined WWOOF as we are currently travelling around Australia for two years and we are hoping to learn more about organic farming, permaculture, biodynamics and self-sufficiency. We also want to give our children (who have mostly been raised in the city) the experience of life on a farm, a greater connection to nature, an opportunity to build greater resilience, and an appreciation for where their food comes from and the importance of supporting sustainable agricultural practices. We also love the idea of being able to give back by working in various capacities on different farms and helping to spread the message about the importance of organic, sustainable and regenerative farming, with a view to being part of the change that we'd like to see in the world.

To meet new people and doing purposeful work. I also like exchanging knowledge and discovering best practices. I am seeking out environmentally-conscious living-spaces and workplaces that promote better health for humans and the planet in general.

I joined WWOOF primarily to learn skills about permaculture design, organic, and biodynamic farming. Someday I would like to live on a farm of my own, so it will be interesting to experience the lifestyle. I also believe that WWOOFing will be great way to meet interesting and like-minded people during my travels in Tasmania.

We both want to travel more in Australia and what better way to meet locals and get to know an area than wwoofing! We've been interested in WWOOF for years, and the opportunity to work in this way has now presented itself. So here we are. Claire is a writer and editor by trade. She also loves photography. Dave, a computer whiz, is a systems architect. He is also learning woodworking with hand tools. We both love cycle touring and bushwalking, and to get out into the bush to enjoy these things. We also love travelling and getting to know new people, cultures and places.

I want to join WWOOF to travel, learn, make new friends and be more independent and skilled. I don't want to be near the cities and ideally in the country on self supporting farms or the likes. This is an amazing idea and I've met hosts and travellers who have done WWOOFing and they all had awesome experiences - and I would like to be a part of many wonderful experiences around Australia .

WWOOFing is a great way to meet like minded people. It gives us the opportunity to establish contacts that we otherwise wouldn't be able to find.
