Shambhala Oasis is a 10 acre rain forest property in Northern NSW Rivers Region which is being developed as a Spiritual Sanctuary and Learning Centre. One component of the vision is Shambhala Enterprise Cottage Industries, which includes organic production of fruit, veges & bush tucker superfoods. We are at the early stages of developing this property with quite a lot of planting, watering, bush fire mitigation, and building maintenance to do. The property is also dedicated land for nature, and we are blessed with a huge range of native birds, cute bush wallabies and panoramic views. Suitable for mature honest people with a sincere interest in non violence, spirituality & systemic change who can work unsupervised and love wildlife. This is an alcohol, tobacco & other drug free space thats loosely run like a post modern ashram or meditation centre with simple plant based diet.

We (Christy and DJ) have the most wonderful piece of paradise in Northern NSW, in the Byron Hinterland. We have owned our little piece of heaven for about 2.5 years. Our working farm has 400 mature, organic avocado trees that had been neglected for several years before we bought the property. We are working hard to give these beauties the care they need to thrive once again.

City/Town: Halls Gap
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, Separate Building
3hrs from Melbourne Airport I am a retired secondary school teacher and run a small BnB business and, having moved onsite recently, I am establishing the garden and maintaining the property. I keep bees, and wish soon to increase the number of hives I have. I have hosted many Couchsurfers in my own flat, but will provide more private accommodation with the help of WWOOFers ASAP. The property is within a short distance of the Halls Gap village, and is set adjacent to the very popular Grampians National Park, famous for its mountains, wildlife and hiking and climbing. There is usually abundant opportunity for additional work in local restaurants, etc., if desired.

City/Town: Russell Island
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type: In Our Home
Help us to help others. I have a functional neurological disorder that impacts on my daily life with movement, day to day living, speech sometimes, chronic fatigue. Wanting to start a support group for others that are similar. We would like to set up a food forest and sensory garden right here on Russell Island. Woofers help us to maintain the property and to build and maintain fruit trees, raised garden beds, hugelkultur garden, lasagna-method garden beds for a wide range of fruit and vegetables grown in an organic way. Wayne and I are an outgoing couple that like to meet new people and learn from all cultures. We are both chefs by trade but have moved onto the island for a quiet sense of life. We both like to get into arts and crafts. We are both originally from New Zealand and have been living in Australia for ten years. Graeme likes to go fishing and all things outdoors even though he's got this disability, he doesn't let that limit his life. Wayne likes to get into music and he's more the indoor type. We're pretty easy going people and like to learn new things. At the moment we're building our house and living in a tiny home at the back. We don't mind couples Building experience and gardening experience is preferable but not exactly needed. You must be friendly, outgoing, willing to work five hours a morning in exchange for room and board. Please let us know if there is anything you'd like to know about our little island.

Skills I Want to Learn:
We joined WWOOF because we both want to further understand agriculture and be involved in the shift towards organics and regenerative farming. Zoe had a large environmental focus in her degree and is wanting to pursue an environmental career. She believes that having hands on experience and first hand knowledge of farming is an important aspect to a holistic view of environmental issues and forward thinking approaches to change. After studying food and working in hospitality, Luke also has a passion for sustainable agriculture and local food networks. He is interested in creating new products, starting new enterprises, expanding the market for sustainable products, creating and consuming with a conscience. We are looking forward to being involved in rewarding work while learning some practical skills, acquiring knowledge about the land, and travelling and seeing new parts of our country. We are keen to get our hands dirty and get back to the land.
