I'm turning my life towards a healthier path as I don't drink or smoke anymore and trying to be vegetarian. So learning about the farm lifestyle and and knowing what I could achieve learning from the hosts itself is exciting for me and a great place to start. I'd also like to have my own farm one day. That'll be ideal.

It's an awesome concept, do some work, tending what needs to be done then watch it flourish... sleep soundly, knowing that you are part of the solution, not the problem. WOOFing will me give the opportunity to learn new skills plus be part of growth within the community and individually. I simply want to be part of planting them, nurture them, then eat them! (preferably not animal's!) With all the madness on the planet right now, let's get back to the basics, slow it down, nature, nurture,

To have the opportunity to learn more about sustainable farming and lifestyles, and meet some new and interesting people. Chiara would love to be able to put more life experience behind the 'theory' she is learning in her studies. We are both friendly and love meeting new people from all different backgrounds.

I joined WWOOF as it is an alternative way to travel discovering new places and people along the way.  It really is a unique opportunity to get out into the Australian countryside and experience Aussie culture while learning about organic farming and how to live sustainably on the land.  Others backpackers who I have met along the way recommended it a very worthwhile experience.  The bushfire season has highlighted the importance of community and the spirit of volunteering in Australia. I am willing to lend a helping hand and learn some of the tricks of the trade of organic farming along the way. Hopefully one day I will grow some of my own food. WWOOF is very relevant for the times we live in as these days many people are starting to think about where their food is coming from and see the value of healthy nutritious food grown locally. Which is great for local small businesses which I hear are the heartbeat of Regional Australia. To be a WWOOFer in Australia is to play a role in helping to make the world a greener, better place for us all.

During my time at Gwinganna, i worked along side two amazing organic famers who had been there for almost a decade. Their experience and insights have motivated me to follow this interest further, i am now looking to volunteer at diverse organic farms that host a range of animals and practices that i can learn from and take these skills with me in life.

I think you don't always have to charge money for your work. In a foreign country, it's much more important for me to learn something about the people and the culture. and what would be more suitable than wwoofing?!
