Our farm is a mixed cropping, and grazing property set in a stunning valley in the foothills of the Richmond ranges National Park. We grow ginger, turmeric and garlic, along with vegetables, berries and a mixed fruit and nut orchard. Our animals include a small Jersey dairy herd, a  beef cow and five steers for meat. We also have five heritage breeding sows and two boars, and a few boys and girls destined for pork eventually and currently we have 14 piglets of various ages. In addition we have poultry, Pekin ducks for eggs and meat, a mixed flock of about 30 chickens that produce gorgeous eggs daily. Finally, we have 19 guinea fowl, noisy, messy and often down-right annoying, but they eat ticks and keep snakes away. Other animals, we have two beautiful ginger cats for vermin control, mainly in the sheds, and a beautiful, loveable and majestic livestock guardian dog, a two- year-old Maremma, called Baci and an adorable Dixie puppy, called Dennis.

We are nestled on 100 acres of stunning bushland in the midst of the Watagan forest of the Lower Hunter Valley, 1.5 hours from Sydney. There is a wide variety of wildlife including lyrebirds, wallabies, echidnas and wombats, blue and fairy wrens, kookaburras, satin bower birds, black and sulphur crested cockatoos. We are growing tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchinis, mustard greens, rocket, kale, broccoli, carrots, beans (all types), herbs (all types), citrus, and many other fruits and vegetables. We are in the process of developing a master plan for our property, having moved here in August 2018. We are increasing the number of fruit and nut trees, are continually expanding the vegetable gardens, and enjoy fresh eggs with our 7 chickens and rooster. The property is situated on the crest of a hill, with a beautiful area for camping and meandering in the valley by a natural brook, and another area at the top for workshops and retreats. Keith has a background in Ag Science and biotech start-ups (after a first career as a university professor); Brynnie has been growing not-for-profit organisations in the sustainability, health, maintaining Indigenous culture and social justice space (after a first career in international corporate law) and has studied Zen Shiatsu. Keith has lived in Germany and Brynnie is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese (having lived in Brazil) and gets by in French. Our children are in their mid-20s, having studied art history, philosophy and entrepreneurship, and environmental science, ecology and Spanish. We also have older children (via Keith) and seven grandchildren. We moved to this property in 2018 after having lived in Sydney for more than 25 years.

The seclusion & privacy of 1/4 acre in the heart of town with Australian birds & wild life a plenty. A relaxed family home, with a creek & bush reserve. Hot tub, Yoga spaces & wood fired oven. Our garden consists of fruit trees, Bush Tucker, herbs, veggies, chooks & ducks. Must love animals and have no allergies as we have indoor cats and our friendly Labrador, Dex. We follow permaculture because we are passionate about self-reliance & futuresteading for future generations. We love growing, cooking, preserving, fermenting, medicine -making & brewing our home-grown & local produce. We have many permaculture systems in place & can show how these self-sufficient principles work in a 'normal' aussie house block in suburbia. Other hobbies include bushwalking, surfing, music, craft, yoga, vintage cars & motorcycles. Work includes general tending of home & garden maintenance, making compost, mulching, digging, weeding, herb & food preserving. Accomodation for 2 in 'The Cottage', a private, self-contained 'tiny house' in our garden, with a Double bed, hot outdoor shower, composting toilet & camp kitchen. Some shared meals, mixed diet. 3-7 day stays. Keith is Canadian (we met while he was backpacking in Oz in '89), Nicole is of Italian heritage. We have 3 grown children & a beautiful baby grand daughter who live around the corner & visit often.  We are short walking distance to Mollymook beach, Harbour & shops & a few minutes drive to Milton. We are very easy going & only work a few hours a day, leaving you plenty of time to explore the beautiful south coast.

We are located north of sunny Brisbane in a beautiful native forest. We are regenerating the native bush land with local and interstate Australian native plants, most we propagate from seed, to attract birds and wildlife. We have many beautiful birds visit daily, parrots, cockatoo, kookaburra, lorikeets... and wallabies, koala and possums on occasions. We are interested in permaculture landscaping to create an habitat for birds and wildlife and where people can live harmoniously. We are creative people and live sustainably. We have an organic vegetable garden. I have been gardening all my life. I propagate my vegetables and herbs from saved seeds. Richard has a lot of experience in construction and loves designing and building with recycled timber. We have a large comfortable home with a swimming pool which is solar heated. You will have a private bedroom and bathroom with a very comfortable bed. Brisbane is in the subtropical region which means we have beautiful sunny weather most days of the year. We enjoy going with our volunteers to beaches, walking in the rainforests and hiking to the waterfall to swim. And certain times of the year we love to go whale watching and to visit the sea turtles nesting and hatching. We are both gourmet cooks. We are not chefs but we did own a restaurant a few years ago. We love healthy food and we are mostly vegetarian although we cater to any diet choices. We have many interesting and creative projects we need help with outside and occasionally inside. We require people to work 4-6 hours per day with 2 days off per week. We provide breakfast lunch and dinner. We would prefer people to stay at least two weeks and long term is an option. If you like our profile please send us a message.

Have a free single room or have a double bed in my travel truck. For locals wanting to see different properties a gardening day visit is welcome. Urban Permaculture property near the Merri Creek on Melbournes basalt plain. Designed by two fungal ecologists. We don’t have mushroom farms but actively recruit fungi & slime mould’s to help, we also encourage native plants & animals. We have a productive fruit hedge and in summer green walls of hops. Property is a work in progress. In the fungal season there are opportunities to join in mycological field work. We also have two backyard farmers who are working towards a productive market garden in the back.

The House of the Rising Sun. Be the first to watch and wake up to the sunrise in Australia, perched on top of a mountain on the most eastern part of Australia, at the end of a valley, in a secret, giant forest overlooking the vast, majestic Pacific Ocean, is a place called Kinabalu. Many guests & travellers guests started to call it The Treehouse - a name that has now stuck. This is a private conservation park in principle with much work to do, including gardening, tree planting & environmental repair work. Surrounded by a rainforest sanctuary & nature reserve, you can take walks into old growth forest & swim in the waterfalls, so make sure you bring your walking shoes. It has been quite an achievement, building this over the last 11 years. I am presently focused on the garden. Come and plant some herbs if you have a green thumb. See you at The Treehouse - an experience you'll never forget!

Our 1908 home is on 84 acres 6kms south of Violet Town. An adjacent nature reserve (with our ‘private’ swimming pool!) provides habitat for abundant native wildlife including the elusive platypus. We enjoy seasonal foods. Robena is a talented chef who is happy to share her large kitchen. Accommodation in our house for 1-2 (couple or singles). Mixed shared meals. ‘The Gorge’ is a TV, STRESS & SMOKE-FREE Zone! P/u at Violet Town railway station (Benalla/Euroa b.a). Projects vary throughout the year & include gardening, weeding, watering, seasonal food processing & general maintenance.

I am looking for an opportunity to learn farming and market gardening skills on a farm that uses permaculture, biodynamic, or organic methods. I particularly love growing and processing vegetables, herbs, and flowers, and making things in the kitchen. I would also love to learn how to care for animals. I would love to live in a private cosy space while I help out on the farm.

City/Town: Stawell
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, BYO Accommodation
Kate is a retired vigneron and consultant.  I am creative - painting, mosaic work, music etc. I have very friendly dogs.  I'm renovating and developing a garden and landscaping (including a pergola) at a large old house in Stawell, next to the Grampians. If you are a couple interested in helping with this for up to a week then let me know. Campervan friendly. The house is historic and there is often painting, simple repairs to the house and much work to be done in the garden depending on the time of year. There is also a cellar so I try to make preserves if I can be there to catch the fruit etc. So far I've planted nuts, various fruit, many herbs and borders for beneficial insects, birds and bees. Stawell is famous for it's gold history and the gold mine still operates. The country surrounding is wooded farm lands, the Grampians with their hiking and climbing and many other natural attractions. Stawell is also on the main road west to Adelaide so our stop really suits if you are driving around Australia. I'm not there all the time so I'm sorry if the timing doesn't suit but feel free to try if you're going to be in the area as the help would be awesome. Great for garden, landscaping and walks lovers.

We live on beautiful Magnetic Island, a 2min walk to the beach and swimming enclosure. We have a lovely pool with loungers and a few self-contained units which we rent out. If we have WWOOFers we try to free up one of the units, which means you have a very nice en-suite and your own kitchen, but this is not always possible. We grow a wide variety of edible fruits, vegetables & herbs. Work may include tending the garden. We have two gorgeous dogs, 5 chickens, a baby, and a grandma in the house. Looking after the dogs (a Vizsla and a Cocker Spaniel) will usually form part of your work, e.g. walking & caring for the dogs. Our WWOOFers must love dogs!
