We have a beautiful 40 acre horse agistment property, veggie garden & fruit trees and approx. 5 acres bush. 3 min drive to surf beach, bay beach & Inverloch town or 10 min drive to Wonthaggi, a larger town. Push bikes available. We are very interested in living a sustainable lifestyle and hope that our wwoofers are also interested in living sustainably and learning, and sharing knowledge of this. There are almost always wallabies at our farm and if you are lucky you may see kangaroos, echidnas, wombats & occasional koalas. Work may include harvesting, food collection, composting, mulching, hay carting, weeding, fencing, planting, food preservation.  Sometimes there is some work caring for horses: often all the work is in the garden and paddock maintenance, as the horses are mainly looked after by their owners.  Accom for up to 3 in our home, although we usually prefer 2. Shared meals, cook together. We eat a healthy, sustainable diet.  Bron is vegan and while Ray eats everything, many meals are vegan or vegetarian.  Vegetarians & vegans catered for.  No children, no smoking, all stays negotiable on application. Please let us know your available dates when you apply and the length of time that you would like to wwoof here. (1 to 2 weeks preferred).

I decided to join WWOOF to be able to learn about sustainable agriculture methods such as permaculture in order to practice them myself later and to experience a community lifestyle. Skills I Want to Learn:
Covid-19 has given us the opportunity to take a year away from home. We want to see some of Australia; we want to experience rural community; we want to support organic growers in a time when our experience and labour might be useful. We would like to enjoy new relationships, see different ways of living life, understand our country and our fellow Australians more deeply. At the end of our year we hope to have some new friends, to have lived in some remarkable places and to have contributed to some remarkable food production.

I join this woofing website because of the interest it brings and the fact we can help farmers who need strong and nice peoples. The idea to help the farmers in exchange of accommodation is stunning. And I believe that with WWOOF I'll find the perfect farm to work and share with

We are both on our gap years and have just spent the last three months on an adventure guide program in and around Queenstown, New Zealand training to become rock climbing and hiking guides. Following that adventure, we are looking to travel and learn as many new skills as we can over the next year! We would absolutely love to learn more about permaculture and sustainable/organic farming and so WOOFING seemed like the perfect chance to do so. We are also very firm believers in giving back to the community we're living in, supporting small local businesses and reducing our environmental impact.

REASONS for joining WWOOF

I am joining WWOOF because I like the idea of giving and receiving knowledge, skills, experiences and help without the use of money.

Due to a vehicle accident in 2019 (injuries now recovered) work opportunities I am qualified for were few, now we have the the corona crisis, so I thought to myself do something you like – go wwoofing

EXPERIENCES I AM LOOKING FOR

Experiences I am looking for include, new techniques of organic food growing; understanding the ecology of a place land and sea; grow my own food; set up gardens for others; permaculture; companion planting; caring for animals; animal husbandry, preserving food and cooking in different countries. I want to learn how to set up my own piece of land/farm may be including tourism and wwoofing. I always like to learn. I like to meet people.

We live at the meeting place of two rivers, the Goobarragandra and the peak, backing onto Kosciuszko nation park. We WWOOFed all through Europe, the middle east and Africa, and now we finally have a farm of our own to share with others. Welcome. I have 20 acres, 5 chickens, 2 children and 1 wife. We love permaculture and living a holistically healthy life. I work part time in town, and full time on the farm making it a beautiful place for people to visit. Aside from the work we do on the farm, we run a part time circus, circus classes, bnb, retreats and camps. We love people to be able to join in with lots of different activities when they join us, using existing skills, and building new ones.
