City/Town: Kuranda
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: Caravan
We are hobby farmers on acreage, with an interest in organic farming and self-sufficiency. We are located outside the world-renowned village of Kuranda, close to Cairns, the Barrier Reef and rain forest. We are members of the Rare Fruit Group and our passion is growing our own oranges, cinnamon, tea, coffee, vanilla beans, ice-cream beans, etc. We are working with improving the soil, so lots of spreading compost, fertilizing, mowing. Also, feeding poultry and in the dry season checking sprinklers, but support may also be needed in other areas. Shared meals, mixed diet. Can be accommodating as Jan is a chef and Aneta is a dietitian. No children. No drugs. NSI. Prefer initial stays of 6-10 days, longer stays neg.

I am excited to learn the ways of sustainable farming and homesteading, all while making valuable  connections along the way.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I want to go to Australia and do Woofing because I am very interested in the country and the people. I am looking for a place where I feel comfortable and would like to participate in the farm life. I like working with animals and plants. I like to be in nature and I like physical work. I want to gain new experiences. I'm curious to see what kind of work is done on a farm in Australia and would like to learn new skills. I want to meet new people, especially locals. I want to get to know and explore the country. I do not like big cities and therefore I feel better in the countryside.
