The seclusion & privacy of 1/4 acre in the heart of town with Australian birds & wild life a plenty. A relaxed family home, with a creek & bush reserve. Hot tub, Yoga spaces & wood fired oven. Our garden consists of fruit trees, Bush Tucker, herbs, veggies, worms, bees, chooks & ducks. Must love animals and have no allergies as we have indoor cats and our friendly Labrador, Dex. We follow permaculture because we are passionate about self-reliance & futuresteading for future generations. We love growing, cooking, preserving, fermenting, medicine -making & brewing our home-grown & local produce. We have many permaculture systems in place & can show how these self-sufficient principles work in a 'normal' aussie house block in suburbia. Eg; composting, humanure, beekeeping, worm-farming, fertigation, swales, greywater, making seaweed fertiliser, wicking beds, driveway gardening, outdoor & indoor mushroom cultivation.... Other hobbies include weaving, bushwalking, surfing, music, craft, yoga, vintage cars & motorcycles, e-bikes. Work includes general tending of home & garden maintenance, making compost, mulching, digging, weeding, herb & food preserving.... in flow with the day, season & moment. Accomodation for 2 in 'The Cottage', a private, self-contained 'tiny house' in our garden, with a Double bed, hot outdoor shower, composting toilet & camp kitchen. Some shared meals, mixed diet. 3-7 day stays. Keith is Canadian (we met while he was backpacking in Oz in '89), Nicole is of Italian heritage. We have 3 grown children & a beautiful baby grand daughter who live around the corner & visit often.  We are short walking distance (10mins) to Mollymook beach, Harbour & shops & a few minutes drive to Milton. We are very easy going & potter in the garden a few hours a day,  leaving you plenty of time to explore the beautiful south coast. Theres also the option of time learning kitchen practices like fermenting, canning & pickling, growing mushrooms, weaving & sharing wisdom.

It seems like a better way of working while travelling than the standard way of finding work, having that monetary relationship, worrying about where to live, trying to negotiate wages and all the other humdrum stuff. It sounds like the hosts are willing to share their knowledge, know how and experiences and be friendly at the same time. A very welcome change.

We have a 1 1/2 acres fruit farm just 15 minutes North of Byron Bay. We call ourselves the 20/20 farm as we have approx 20 mango trees, 20 banana trees, 20 citrus trees, 20 macadamia trees and a handful of a multitude of other fruit and nut trees. We do not use any sprays or chemicals in gardening and try to follow the principles of nature. Our land draws in many different native birds. People who visit us always say it is so peaceful hear and they never want to leave.

I'm just looking to get away from the hubbub for a while and learn some new skills. I'm Interested in agriculture and food storing practices, home brewing, eco dying and anything involving fermentation. So WWOOFing seems ideal.

We are a micro-distillery on about an acre, producing superb Organic Potato Vodka, and a range of Gins from sustainably-sourced sugar, (including an Organic Strawberry Gin - stunning!). You will be working in the garden AND the distillery, learning fermentation techniques, weeding, paving, cleaning (there's a lot of cleaning in a distillery! But this won't be a major part of the deal - promise). We've been in the Enviro movement for decades, and run our distillery on very green principles. We also have a gorgeous dog, ducks, cat, and a fabulous forest out the back.

A tropical fruit farm with mostly banana and citrus production for value adding dried banana products. Our farm is almost surrounded by rainforest in the Wet Tropics of North QLD. The farm is close to town with all the amenities of country living and close to Cairns and the beach. The farm is always green and lush with small creeks and lots of swimming locations nearby. We run a fruit stand at the front gate and sell ripe bananas daily.

We joined in hopes of finding a community of like minded people, a place to grow and heal and dance and laugh and build soil! ...And maybe a place to build our home - using natural building techniques and some of the earthship design principles.

I joined WWOOF to learn and to explore. I am keen to learn more about different ways and scales of working with the land, and maybe to discover how I would like to live and work. I'd like to gain more hands on knowledge of how to grow, cook, and preserve food throughout the year. I especially love food gardening, and am excited to learn about new gardening methods and plants. I'd also like to learn more about orchard culture, and keeping poultry and dairy animals. I'm also keen to explore Australia to meet lovely people along the way!

We want to join WWOOF to live and learn with people who are living a life we are seeking to build for ourselves. Long term, we would like to start a permaculture retreat center in Morocco or Southern Europe, and are building the skills we need to do so. In a more short term basis, I would like to live in a farm and ideally work outdoors in the mornings and work on my book in the afternoon / evening. I find being in nature very inspiring. I have co-designed and facilitated different gatherings in retreat centers around the world, and would be happy to bring this knowledge as well to our hosts. My partner would like to learn more about permaculture, animal care, growing food and experimenting with fermentation.
