We would like to learn , news skills And discover other way of living . We were here during the bushfire crisis and would like to help people . Unfortunately few weeks after leaving Fraser Island , the all country was in lock down , we were on our way to look for a farm work or a bushfire relief camp. We wish we can find a place where we can learn , work ,help and meet people and if it can help us for our visa it will be a real  opportunity for us .

Alissia wants to improve her English and we would both love to learn new skills related to farm work or anything else that we might have never thought of ! We love animals, nature and are ready for new experiences. When it comes to work we are a serious and hard-working couple.

The reason that I join Wwoof is to learn how to grow organic vegetables, including pest control, seed collection, irrigation, and all other process involved. I want to build a life style that I could be mostly self-sufficient, and also raise a few chickens ad other pets. I’m also interested in connecting with local farmers, not only to learn from them, but also to experience a different lifestyle. Now, I came to a realization that what work I choose to do, is what lifestyle I’m having. I choose to be close to nature and outdoor activities, and maybe one day will have my own veggie gardens. This is more attractive to me compared to computer work.

I joined WWOOF because I also wanted during this year to spend time more connected with nature and learn more about farm works. I've always lived in cities and I think important even more today with the climate change, to be able to produce at least a part of what you consume and try to be always less dependent of the industrial production of food.

I loved to Wwoof during my year in NZ, having lots of unforgettable meetings and memories, sharing moments with mindful people. I also loved the unexpected, like brewing my own beer or catching a huge Kingfish for my first-ever fishing experience... I want to help some hosts to realize their projects and get deeper into some issues. I want to take time to write as well on a personal project that needs calm and focus to mature.

I have a strong theoretical knowledge about soil health and organic fertilisers (I completed a PhD a couple of years ago that had to do with creating value from wastes and soil fertility) and recently have read up a lot on regenerative agriculture practices but I would like to get more practical skills. I'm looking to gain skills and knowledge from farmers through volunteering on farms and understand the challenges faced in organic farming. I really would like to understand how an organic farm works and what its challenges are to try and understand how these farming models could be more widespread. I'm currently in between jobs but in future I would like to work with the topic of sustainable/resilient agriculture, not sure how but that's what I'm trying to figure out!

I wanted to join WWOOF to see what opportunities there are around the place. I'm thinking that it might be an opportunity to learn from people who are doing organic farming day to day, and to see and learn those farming practices. It might also be an opportunity to travel a bit and see some different country.

We would love to experience WWOOF-ing for a variety of reasons: 1. We love being outside and being active! We are so blessed to be healthy and to have this time with our kids, and we would love to experience farm work with them. 2. We love learning new skills! Neither of us has much farm experience, and we want to model for our kids that we're always learning and growing. 3. We look forward to meeting WWOOF hosts and creating lasting family friendships. 4. As a traveling family of four, we are constantly looking for ways to stick to our budget and be smart with our spending. If we can exchange farm work for accommodation and meet locals in the process, that's a win-win!

Skills I Want to Learn:
When I WWOOFed in Scotland I enjoyed learning about plants and animals. I think what I learned most about these experiences was working with different types of people; whether it be the hosts or their families or other WWOOFers - communicating and staying open to learning, and trying to stay positive when the weather turns 🙂 One thing that really stuck out to were the stories of people I met - I learnt that a lot of people go through some pretty hard things in life, and manage to come out the other side; I found it inspiring and want to do it again.

It seems like a great organisation, and I think it will help me fulfill my dream of living and working on a farm. After working in a factory for over 4 years I realized I desperately need to do something with my life, after a while I realized I love organic produce and started to think "I would love to work on a farm in the fresh air" I really hope this gives me a fresh start and makes me more confident about myself whilst learning so much about farm work and farm life

Skills I Want to Learn:
Whenever I choose to settle down in life there are certain skills which would be beneficial to know. One of them being the basics of farm work, maybe someday I would want to have a small organic farm of my own. But WWOOF is more than what meets the eye, I believe it's sharing of stories and skills in life overall. This is an opportunity to learn but also to teach, which is beneficial for both parties involved. If there's on thing I want to be remembered for and to bring to this world it is kindness.
